Overview

The ARRMA Pinion Gear 19T MOD 0.5 CNC 3.2mm Bore is a precision-engineered replacement gear designed specifically for high-performance RC models. Whether you're running a 1/16 scale Mini Kraton, MOJAVE GROM, or TYPHON GROM, this steel pinion gear delivers the reliability and durability demanded by serious RC enthusiasts across the UK. As a spare part engineered to OEM specifications, it ensures your RC car maintains factory performance characteristics and longevity in extreme bashing conditions.

This tough steel component is ideal for RC hobbyists who demand consistency, precision and durability from every part they install on their vehicles. Whether you're enjoying weekend bashings, competitive racing, or pushing your RC machine to its limits, the 19T pinion gear provides smooth, reliable power transmission from motor to drivetrain. The CNC precision manufacturing process guarantees accurate tooth profiles and exact bore specifications, making this an essential replacement part for any ARRMA 1/16 or 1/14 scale model owner.

If you're searching for a reliable pinion gear for your RC car UK-wide, this ARRMA component offers outstanding value and genuine OEM quality. Stock a few of these in your spares box and you'll never be caught without a replacement during a crucial race or bash session.

Key Features

  • Strong and durable steel construction — Manufactured from robust steel material, this pinion gear withstands the demanding forces and stresses of high-performance RC racing and bashing, ensuring long-lasting reliability even in extreme conditions where lesser gears would fail.
  • Precision manufactured tooth profile — The CNC machining process produces perfectly formed gear teeth with exact specifications, delivering smooth meshing with your spur gear and eliminating noise, vibration and power loss that results from poorly toleranced teeth.
  • Precision manufactured set screw hole — The M3 x 4mm set screw hole is drilled and finished to exacting tolerances, ensuring the pinion sits perfectly on your motor shaft with zero runout, maintaining alignment and preventing slippage under load.
  • Optimised for 3.2mm motor shaft — This gear is engineered specifically for 3.2mm diameter motor shafts found on ARRMA brushless and brushed motors, guaranteeing a perfect fit without modification or adapters.
  • MOD 0.5 gear pitch standard — The MOD 0.5 specification ensures compatibility with OEM ARRMA spur gears and drivetrain components, maintaining the precise gear ratios your model was designed with for optimal performance.

Technical Performance

The 19-tooth pinion gear represents a carefully calibrated balance in drivetrain design for ARRMA 1/16 and 1/14 scale models. At MOD 0.5 pitch, this gear meshes seamlessly with the factory spur gears supplied with ARRMA platforms, delivering smooth power transmission with minimal backlash and maximum efficiency. The CNC manufacturing process ensures that every tooth is identically formed, eliminating the tooth-to-tooth variation found in cheaper pressed or cast gears. This precision translates directly to smoother acceleration, reduced drivetrain wear, and more predictable handling characteristics. The steel material composition provides exceptional hardness and wear resistance, critical properties for gears that must withstand the crushing forces generated by high-torque brushless motors in high-acceleration scenarios. The 3.2mm bore diameter matches OEM motor shafts exactly, and the precision-drilled M3 set screw hole ensures the gear locks securely without wobble. Whether you're upgrading from an original gear or restocking your spares collection, this component maintains the engineering integrity that ARRMA built into your RC model from the factory.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which ARRMA models use the 19T MOD 0.5 pinion gear? — This gear is compatible with several popular ARRMA 1/16 and 1/14 scale models, including the ARRMA 1/16 Mini Kraton 3S (available in Blue, Red, and Teal versions), ARRMA 1/16 MOJAVE GROM 223S BLX 4X4 DT (available in multiple colours), and ARRMA 1/14 TYPHON GROM 223S BLX 4X4 buggy variants. If you own any of these models, this pinion gear is a direct replacement for the original component.
  • Do I need any special tools to fit this pinion gear? — Installation is straightforward and requires only basic RC tools: a small wrench or hex key to fit the M3 x 4mm set screw, and potentially a small drift punch to help seat the gear on your motor shaft. Most RC enthusiasts with a basic toolkit will be able to complete the installation in minutes.
  • What is MOD 0.5 and why does it matter? — MOD (module) is a gear specification that defines the tooth size and spacing. MOD 0.5 pinion gears are designed to mesh with MOD 0.5 spur gears found on ARRMA drivetrains. Using the correct MOD specification ensures smooth meshing, proper backlash, and maximum efficiency. Using incorrect MOD gears can cause noise, vibration, accelerated wear, and drivetrain damage.
  • Can I use this gear on other RC car brands? — This gear is engineered specifically for ARRMA models with 3.2mm motor shafts and MOD 0.5 drivetrains. Whilst the bore diameter and tooth count might superficially fit other brands, ARRMA's precise engineering specifications mean this gear is optimised for ARRMA's particular spur gear ratios, motor torque curves, and overall drivetrain geometry. Using it on non-ARRMA vehicles may result in poor meshing characteristics.
  • How often should I replace my pinion gear? — Pinion gear lifespan depends on driving style, maintenance, and track conditions. Heavy bashers and racers should inspect their pinion regularly for tooth wear and replace it if teeth appear rounded or chipped. As a general guide, stock a spare pinion gear every time you purchase a new ARRMA vehicle, so you always have a replacement ready when you need it.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, this replacement gear is suitable for all experience levels. It's a straightforward swap requiring no special skills or modifications. If your ARRMA model came with a 19T pinion as original equipment, then replacing it with this OEM-equivalent gear is a simple job any beginner can handle.
  • What's the difference between a 19T and other tooth counts? — Tooth count directly affects your model's acceleration and top speed. A 19T pinion provides the gear ratio that ARRMA engineered for each specific model. Lower tooth counts (like 17T) accelerate faster but top out earlier, whilst higher tooth counts (23T, 24T, 25T, 26T) provide higher top speed with slower acceleration. Always use the tooth count specified for your model unless you're deliberately tuning for different performance characteristics.
