Overview

The Spektrum SPM Receiver/ESC Unit for the UMX Me 262 is a sophisticated integrated flight control system designed specifically for ultra-micro electric RC aircraft enthusiasts. This combined receiver and electronic speed controller brings professional-grade radio control technology to one of the most iconic military aircraft ever built, scaled down for the modern RC modeller. Whether you're an experienced RC pilot looking to upgrade an existing UMX Me 262, or a newcomer to ultra-micro aircraft who wants a ready-to-install solution, this integrated unit offers the reliability and performance that Spektrum is recognised for throughout the UK RC hobby community.

The UMX Me 262 receiver/ESC unit represents the pinnacle of compact aircraft electronics design. By combining the receiver and speed controller into a single, lightweight package, Spektrum has eliminated unnecessary complexity and weight whilst maintaining the highest standards of signal integrity and power delivery. This is the kind of innovation that serious RC aircraft pilots demand, whether they're flying at their local club or competing at weekend events across the country. The compact form factor makes it ideal for installation in scale fuselages where space is at a premium, yet it delivers the performance characteristics that keep your aircraft responsive and reliable in the air.

This is genuine Spektrum engineering built to work seamlessly with Spektrum transmitters using the proven DSMX and DSM2 radio protocols. The unit is supplied as a genuine spare part or replacement component for the UMX Me 262 airframe, ensuring perfect compatibility and fit. RC hobbyists across the UK trust Spektrum products because they deliver consistent performance, excellent build quality, and the kind of support that makes the difference between a frustrating experience and hours of enjoyable flying.

Key Features

  • Integrated Receiver and ESC Design — By combining the receiver and electronic speed controller into a single unit, this system reduces installation complexity, minimises weight, and eliminates unnecessary wiring connections that could potentially fail during flight operations.
  • DSMX and DSM2 Radio Compatibility — This receiver works with both modern DSMX protocol and legacy DSM2 systems, giving you flexibility in your transmitter choice and ensuring compatibility with a wide range of Spektrum radio equipment available in the UK market.
  • Compact Ultra-Micro Form Factor — Engineered specifically for the constraints of ultra-micro aircraft design, this unit is small enough to fit into scale fuselages without requiring significant modification or weight redistribution, whilst maintaining full functionality.
  • Spektrum Reliability and Build Quality — Every component in this receiver/ESC unit is manufactured to Spektrum's exacting standards, with rigorous quality control that ensures consistent performance across thousands of flight hours.
  • Genuine OEM Spare Part — This is the authentic Spektrum replacement unit for the UMX Me 262, guaranteeing perfect fit and function when installed in your aircraft, unlike generic or aftermarket alternatives.
  • Professional-Grade Signal Processing — The receiver section employs advanced digital signal processing technology that locks onto your transmitter signal reliably and responds instantly to control inputs, even in environments with RF interference.
  • Efficient Power Management — The integrated ESC is optimised specifically for ultra-micro brushless motors, delivering smooth throttle response and protecting your motor and battery from overload conditions through intelligent current limiting and thermal management.

Technical Performance

This integrated receiver/ESC unit is engineered to exacting specifications for ultra-micro electric aircraft applications. The receiver section implements Spektrum's proven DSMX and DSM2 digital protocols, which are recognised worldwide for their reliability and resistance to signal dropouts. The ESC component is specifically calibrated for the low-power brushless motors used in ultra-micro airframes, providing smooth and predictable power delivery across the full throttle range. The compact size and lightweight construction minimise the impact on aircraft centre of gravity and weight distribution, critical factors in maintaining the exceptional flight characteristics of scale models like the Me 262. The unit employs surface-mount component technology and modern power semiconductor devices to achieve the best possible power density whilst maintaining thermal stability during extended flights. Installation is straightforward when following the aircraft-specific wiring diagrams provided, and the unit integrates seamlessly with standard Spektrum transmitters used throughout the UK RC flying community. Whether you're flying indoors in a large gymnasium or outdoors on a calm day, this receiver/ESC combination provides the responsive, glitch-free control that distinguishes quality RC aircraft systems from basic alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What transmitter do I need to use with the UMX Me 262 receiver/ESC unit? — This unit is compatible with any Spektrum transmitter that supports DSMX or DSM2 protocols. Popular choices among UK RC pilots include the Spektrum DX range and various other Spektrum transmitters designed for aircraft control. You should verify that your specific transmitter model supports aircraft operation before purchase.
  • Is this suitable for beginners to RC aircraft? — The UMX Me 262 receiver/ESC unit itself is professional-grade equipment, but ultra-micro aircraft require careful assembly and reasonably advanced flying skills to operate safely. If you're new to RC aircraft, we recommend starting with a complete trainer aircraft package that includes everything you need, rather than a bare receiver/ESC unit. Experienced RC pilots building or repairing existing aircraft will find this component straightforward to install and use.
  • What battery does this receiver/ESC unit work with? — The Spektrum SPM Receiver/ESC Unit for the UMX Me 262 is designed for use with lithium polymer (LiPo) or lithium iron (LiFe) battery packs in configurations suitable for ultra-micro aircraft. You should consult the installation guide to determine the exact voltage and capacity specifications recommended for your airframe. Typical ultra-micro systems use 1S to 2S battery packs (3.7V to 7.4V nominal voltage) depending on the motor and specific aircraft configuration.
  • Can I use this receiver with aircraft other than the UMX Me 262? — Whilst this unit was designed specifically for the UMX Me 262 airframe, technically it could potentially work with other compatible ultra-micro aircraft designs, provided the connector types and power requirements match. However, we recommend using Spektrum's application-specific receiver/ESC units for other airframes to ensure optimal performance and proper integration with the airframe design.
  • What makes this better than a separate receiver and ESC? — Integrated receiver/ESC units like this save weight, reduce complexity, eliminate an extra set of connections that could fail, and are optimised to work together perfectly. For ultra-micro aircraft where every gram counts and space is severely limited, an integrated unit is often the only practical choice.
  • How do I install this in my aircraft? — Installation requires soldering skills and knowledge of RC aircraft wiring. You should follow Spektrum's installation guide specific to the UMX Me 262, which provides detailed wiring diagrams and mounting instructions. If you're not confident with soldering or electronic installation, we recommend seeking assistance from an experienced RC modeller at your local flying club.
