Overview
The Vitavon Aluminium Spline Hub + HD Steel CVD Shafts For Arrma Kraton 6S (Silver) VITAR310458 is a premium upgrade designed specifically for serious RC enthusiasts who demand maximum durability and reliability from their brushless RC vehicles. This professional-grade drivetrain component addresses a critical weakness found in many stock Arrma Kraton 6S builds: the vulnerable steel pin that holds the hex hub in place. Vitavon's engineering team identified that this pin becomes a real failure point, especially when users upgrade their motors to higher power specifications. By implementing a spline hub design inspired by full-scale racing vehicles, this upgrade eliminates the need for that weak pin entirely, creating a robust drivetrain solution that can handle the demands of serious RC car driving.
Whether you're a weekend basher pushing your Kraton 6S to its limits, a competitive racer looking for maximum drivetrain reliability, or an experienced RC enthusiast upgrading to aftermarket components, this Vitavon upgrade is an essential investment. The combination of CNC-machined 7075 aluminium hubs and hardened 45# steel CVD shafts represents the kind of engineering quality you'll find in professional-grade RC cars across the UK and beyond. This is not a product designed for absolute beginners, but rather for those who understand the value of quality upgrades and want to eliminate drivetrain failure as a concern during their RC sessions.
RC car enthusiasts in the UK have come to trust Vitavon components for their uncompromising build quality and real-world performance improvements. This spline hub and CVD shaft set represents the pinnacle of what aftermarket drivetrain upgrades can deliver, transforming your Arrma Kraton 6S into a machine capable of handling sustained high-performance driving without the constant worry of axle failure.
Key Features
- CNC-Machined 7075 Aluminium Spline Hubs — Made from premium 7075-grade aluminium and precision CNC-machined, these hubs offer exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and superior corrosion resistance compared to cheaper alternatives, ensuring your drivetrain remains reliable season after season of RC action.
- Spline Design Eliminates Pin Failure — Unlike traditional hex hubs that rely on a steel pin to hold them in place, the spline design integrates multiple contact points that distribute stress evenly across the hub face, completely eliminating the weak point that causes so many stock Kraton 6S builds to fail during high-power use.
- 45# Hardened Steel CVD Shafts — The front and rear CVD shafts are manufactured from tough 45# steel and undergo hardening treatment to achieve superior strength and durability, making them resistant to bending and breaking even under extreme driving conditions.
- Optimised Shaft Length — These shafts are manufactured 1mm longer than the stock originals, directly addressing a common complaint from RC car users that the factory shafts frequently pop out of the drive cup during aggressive driving or high-speed cornering.
- Four Spline 17mm Hex Hubs Included — You receive four complete spline hubs (one for each corner of your Arrma Kraton 6S), ensuring your entire drivetrain receives this superior upgrade for maximum consistency and reliability.
- Four Aluminium Wheel Caps Included — Matching 7075 aluminium wheel caps are supplied with the kit, maintaining the premium aesthetic and quality feel of your upgraded drivetrain while protecting the hubs from debris and impact damage.
- Specifically Engineered for Kraton 6S — This kit is precision-designed and tested specifically for the Arrma Kraton 6S platform, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility without modification or adjustment required.
- Professional-Grade Quality Control — Every component in this kit undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure that what arrives in your hands meets the exacting standards demanded by serious RC enthusiasts who compete and bash their vehicles hard.
Technical Performance
The engineering philosophy behind this Vitavon upgrade centres on addressing the real-world failure modes that occur when modern brushless RC cars are driven at their full potential. The 7075-T6 aluminium grade used for the hubs is the same material specification you'll find in aerospace applications and professional racing components, offering an exceptional balance of light weight and crushing strength. The spline hub design distributes load across multiple contact points rather than relying on a single pin, which dramatically increases the shear strength and fatigue resistance of the drivetrain. The 45# hardened steel used for the CVD shafts achieves a Rockwell hardness rating that makes these shafts significantly more resistant to bending and permanent deformation than stock alternatives. The decision to increase shaft length by 1mm may seem minor, but this refinement directly addresses the pop-out issue that plagues many Kraton 6S owners, particularly during high-speed driving where rotational forces and suspension articulation combine to create the conditions for shaft separation. These specifications combine to create a drivetrain solution that transforms how your Arrma Kraton 6S performs and behaves during extended RC sessions, whether you're running a stock motor or have upgraded to higher power specifications. The CNC manufacturing process ensures tolerances tight enough that components fit together with minimal play, eliminating the slop that leads to accelerated wear and unpredictable handling characteristics. This is the kind of engineering attention to detail that separates premium aftermarket upgrades from budget alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why would I choose a spline hub upgrade over stock hubs for my RC Kraton 6S? — The stock hubs on Arrma Kraton 6S models rely on a steel pin to hold the hex hub in place. When users upgrade their motor to higher power specifications (which many UK RC enthusiasts do), this pin becomes a stress concentration point that frequently fails. The spline design used in this Vitavon kit integrates multiple contact points that distribute stress evenly, completely eliminating this weak point. Additionally, the 1mm longer shaft length prevents the pop-out issue that affects many stock setups, improving reliability during high-speed driving sessions.
- Is this suitable for beginners or only for experienced RC drivers? — This is an upgrade component designed for intermediate to advanced RC enthusiasts who have experience maintaining and modifying their RC cars. Beginners should first run their Kraton 6S in stock configuration to learn how the vehicle handles and what basic maintenance is required. However, once you've got some experience under your belt and understand how your Kraton 6S drives, this upgrade is an excellent investment that immediately improves durability and eliminates a known failure point. The installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic RC car maintenance.
- Will this upgrade work with stock motors and ESCs, or do I need upgraded electronics? — This mechanical drivetrain upgrade is completely compatible with stock electronic components. However, the spline hub design and hardened shafts are particularly valuable if you've already upgraded to a higher-power motor, as that's where the stock pin design typically fails. Many UK RC enthusiasts choose to install this upgrade alongside a more powerful brushless motor for a complete reliability upgrade. You can install it on your stock setup and it will provide immediate benefits, but you'll get the most value if you're running higher-performance electronics.
- How does this compare to other aftermarket hub options available for the Kraton 6S? — The key differentiator is the spline design rather than traditional pin-held hex hubs. The spline design eliminates a critical weak point that other hub upgrades don't address. Additionally, the 1mm longer shaft is a subtle but important refinement that most competitors overlook. The use of 7075-T6 aluminium and hardened 45# steel represents top-tier material specifications. The inclusion of matching wheel caps and the precision CNC manufacturing demonstrate that Vitavon has thought through every detail of the design rather than just creating a minor variation on existing components.
- What's the difference between the standard version and the extended hex hub option? — Vitavon offers an optional 10mm extended hex hub version for users who prefer that fitment style. The extended hex hub version only works with Vitavon stub axles, not with stock stubs. The standard version described here uses the spline design that's compatible with your existing Kraton 6S configuration. Choose the extended version only if you've already invested in Vitavon stub axles and prefer that particular fitment style.
- How do I install this upgrade on my Kraton 6S? — Installation requires removing your existing hubs and shafts, then fitting the new spline hubs and CVD shafts. The process is straightforward for anyone with basic RC car maintenance experience and a standard hex key set. If you're unfamiliar with drivetrain work on RC cars, we recommend having an experienced RC enthusiast walk you through the process or consulting Vitavon's installation guides. The components are precision-manufactured and require no modification to fit correctly.
- Are these shafts front and rear, or do I need to buy separate kits? — The kit includes both front and rear CVD spline shafts, plus all four spline hubs needed for complete drivetrain coverage. This is a complete front-and-rear upgrade, so you won't need to purchase additional kits unless you're building multiple Kraton 6S vehicles.
