Overview
The ARRMA Ball Bearing 8x12x3.5mm (2RS) (4) Z-ARA610052 represents the perfect replacement solution for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand the highest standards of performance and reliability from their model vehicles. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or an enthusiast enjoying weekend bashing sessions, these precision-engineered ball bearings are essential maintenance components that keep your ARRMA RC models running smoothly and efficiently. These replacement bearings are manufactured to exacting specifications by ARRMA, a recognised leader in ready to run RC technology, ensuring that your vehicle maintains factory-level performance and handling characteristics.
As a critical chassis component, quality ball bearings are fundamental to the operation of any RC vehicle. Over time, bearings in your RC buggy, monster truck, or other scale model can wear, accumulate dirt and debris, or lose their smooth rolling characteristics through intensive use. This four-pack of premium replacement bearings provides you with the exact components needed to restore your ARRMA RC model to optimal performance standards. The 8x12x3.5mm dimensions are specifically designed for compatibility with numerous ARRMA vehicles including the popular GORGON GROM, GRANITE GROM MEGA 380, Mini Kraton 3S, MOJAVE GROM, QUAKE GROM, and TYPHON GROM series models across various scales and specifications.
Unlike generic aftermarket alternatives, these bearings are engineered specifically for ARRMA vehicles and manufactured to the same tolerances and quality standards as the original factory components. The inclusion of four bearings in each pack ensures you have adequate spares for immediate replacement needs and future maintenance projects. This makes the Z-ARA610052 an invaluable addition to any serious RC hobbyist's spare parts collection, particularly for those who run their models regularly and want to maintain consistent performance throughout the season.

Technical Performance
The ARRMA Ball Bearing 8x12x3.5mm (2RS) Z-ARA610052 represents the pinnacle of bearing engineering for small-scale RC applications. The 8mm bore diameter, 12mm outer diameter, and 3.5mm width are precisely calculated to fit the suspension and drivetrain components of compatible ARRMA models, providing optimal support and smooth rotation under load. The 2RS designation refers to the dual rubber shield configuration, which provides comprehensive protection against the ingress of dirt, sand, water and other contaminants that can degrade bearing performance. Unlike sealed ball bearings that use metal shields, the rubber seals employed in these bearings offer superior flexibility and sealing characteristics whilst maintaining the smooth rotational properties essential for RC performance. The ball-raced design ensures minimal friction and maximum efficiency, translating directly into improved handling response, faster acceleration, and extended battery runtime on a single charge. For RC enthusiasts running their models intensively—whether competing in races or enjoying regular recreational sessions—these bearings maintain their performance characteristics across extended use cycles, making them an essential component of any preventative maintenance programme. The precision manufacturing process ensures that all four bearings in the pack exhibit identical characteristics, eliminating any variation that could lead to inconsistent handling or performance imbalances across the vehicle's suspension and drivetrain systems.

- How often should I replace the ball bearings in my RC vehicle? — The frequency of bearing replacement depends on usage intensity and environmental conditions. Bearings used in dry indoor environments may last significantly longer than those exposed to sand, dirt and moisture. If you notice grinding sounds, resistance to rotation, or loose play in suspension components, these are indicators that bearing replacement may be necessary. Regular inspection during routine maintenance checks helps identify wear early. As a general guide, bearings used in competitive racing or intensive bashing may require replacement every 6-12 months, whilst casual recreational use might extend service intervals to 12-24 months.
- What does the 2RS designation mean on these bearings? — The 2RS marking indicates that these bearings feature dual rubber shields (one on each side of the bearing) rather than single shields or open designs. These rubber seals provide comprehensive protection against the ingress of contaminants including dirt, sand, dust and moisture whilst maintaining the smooth rolling characteristics essential for RC performance. The rubber material is specifically formulated to flex and accommodate the bearing's rotation whilst maintaining an effective seal throughout the bearing's operational life. This design represents an excellent balance between protection and performance for recreational and competitive RC applications.
- Are these bearings suitable for beginners or racing professionals? — These ball bearings are suitable for RC enthusiasts at all levels, from beginners discovering the world of RC for the first time to seasoned competitors preparing their vehicles for competitive events. For beginners, these bearings represent a reliable way to maintain your vehicle's performance and extend its operational lifespan. For racing professionals, the precision manufacturing and consistent tolerances ensure that performance remains optimised across competitive sessions. The straightforward installation process makes these bearings accessible to hobbyists with varying levels of mechanical expertise.
- How do I install these ball bearings in my ARRMA RC model? — Installation varies depending on your specific model and which components require bearing replacement. Generally, bearing replacement involves removing the suspension arms or drivetrain components, carefully extracting the worn bearing, and installing the new bearing ensuring proper seating. Most ARRMA models feature accessible bearing locations designed for easy maintenance. Consult your vehicle's instruction manual for detailed disassembly and reassembly procedures specific to your model. If you're unfamiliar with bearing replacement, the RC Model Shop team can provide guidance or perform the service for you.
