Overview

The PRB Aluminum Impeller for the Pro Boat Jetstream 24 is a premium replacement component engineered to restore and enhance the jet propulsion performance of your RC jet boat. This stainless steel impeller is a genuine Pro Boat spare part, specifically designed for the Jetstream 24 model, and represents a critical wear item that requires periodic inspection and replacement to maintain optimal thrust and efficiency. Whether you're running your RC boat UK-wide on lakes, rivers, or coastal waters, a worn impeller will significantly impact your boat's acceleration, top speed, and overall handling characteristics. This specialist component is essential for any serious RC boating enthusiast who demands reliable, consistent performance from their high-speed jet-powered craft.

The Jetstream 24 is renowned in the RC boating community for its sleek design, impressive speed capabilities, and responsive handling. As a jet boat rather than a traditional propeller-driven craft, the Jetstream 24 relies entirely on its jet pump assembly—which includes the impeller—to generate thrust and control. The impeller is the rotating component inside the jet pump that draws water in through the intake grate and forces it out through the steering nozzle, providing both forward propulsion and directional control. Over time, through regular use, sandy or shallow-water runs, and general wear, the impeller can become damaged, cavitated, or less efficient, reducing your boat's performance noticeably. Upgrading to a genuine Pro Boat replacement impeller ensures you maintain factory-specification performance and reliability.

This aftermarket impeller comes highly recommended by the RC boating community and is stocked by authorised RC retailers across the UK. If you're a weekend basher taking your Jetstream 24 out on regular adventures, or a more competitive pilot seeking peak performance for racing or trick runs, having a spare impeller on hand is sensible maintenance planning. The stainless steel construction offers excellent durability and corrosion resistance, particularly important for saltwater or mineral-rich freshwater environments. RC Model Shop holds large stocks for quick dispatch, with fast UK delivery options including next-day services for urgent repairs, ensuring you're never without your jet boat for long.

Key Features

  • Genuine Pro Boat Specification — This is an authentic Pro Boat replacement part (not an aftermarket alternative), which guarantees correct fitment to your Jetstream 24 jet pump assembly and maintains the engineering tolerances essential for optimal water flow and thrust generation. Using genuine components ensures your boat performs exactly as the manufacturer intended.
  • Stainless Steel Construction — The impeller is manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, which provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard materials, particularly important if you run your RC boat in saltwater, brackish water, or mineral-rich freshwater environments. Stainless steel also offers excellent durability under the extreme rotational stresses the impeller experiences during operation.
  • Direct Replacement for Jetstream 24 — This part is specifically engineered as a replacement component for the Pro Boat Jetstream 24, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with your existing jet pump housing, wear ring, drive shaft, and nozzle assembly without requiring modification or adjustment. Correct fitment means you can complete the replacement quickly and get back on the water with confidence.
  • Essential Maintenance Item — The impeller is classified as a common wear item on jet boats, particularly after sandy or shallow-water runs where debris can damage the blade surfaces. Regular inspection and re-greasing of the jet pump assembly, including the impeller, helps maintain thrust efficiency and extends the lifespan of the entire propulsion system.
  • Restores Peak Performance — A worn or damaged impeller reduces water displacement, decreasing your boat's acceleration and top speed while increasing fuel or battery consumption. Replacing it with a fresh component restores the Jetstream 24's original performance characteristics and responsiveness.

Technical Performance

The PRB Aluminum Impeller (model Z-PRB382001) is engineered to work as part of the complete Pro Boat Jetstream 24 jet pump assembly, which includes the jet pump housing, intake grate, wear ring, drive shaft, steering nozzle, and associated seals and bearings. The impeller itself is the rotating component that draws water in through the intake grate (typically made from aluminium or stainless steel for corrosion resistance) and pressurises it through the wear ring before expelling it through the steering nozzle to provide thrust. The stainless steel material specification ensures excellent resistance to corrosion from saltwater exposure and abrasive particulates encountered in sandy or shallow-water environments. Performance is closely linked to the condition of surrounding components—if your intake grate is damaged, your wear ring is worn, or your drive shaft has play in it, the impeller alone cannot restore full performance. The Jetstream 24 is designed to accept Spektrum brushless marine motors and ESCs ranging from 100A to 120A capacity, with battery compatibility including 3S and 4S LiPo configurations, allowing for flexible power tuning depending on your preferred performance envelope and runtime requirements. The entire jet pump assembly, including this impeller, is sealed against water ingress through carefully engineered seals and gaskets, which should be inspected and re-greased regularly—particularly after use in sandy, shallow, or debris-filled water. Wheelspin Models, a specialist UK RC retailer, recommends inspecting your impeller after every sandy or shallow-water run and replacing it whenever you notice cavitation damage, blade erosion, or reduced thrust output.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the PRB Aluminum Impeller suitable for beginners in RC boating? — Yes, this is a straightforward replacement component. If you own a Pro Boat Jetstream 24 and have basic mechanical skills, impeller replacement is an accessible maintenance task. Wheelspin Models recommends checking your Jetstream 24 manual for installation instructions, or contacting their knowledgeable customer service team for friendly advice. This is an ideal spare to keep on hand if you run your RC boat regularly.
  • When should I replace my Jetstream 24 impeller? — Common wear items on jet boats include impellers, wear rings, drive shafts, and seals. Wheelspin Models recommends inspecting your impeller after sandy or shallow-water runs. Replace it if you notice cavitation damage (white, eroded areas on the blade surfaces), visible blade erosion, scoring, or if your boat's thrust and acceleration have noticeably decreased despite the battery being fully charged and the motor running normally.
  • What is the difference between this stainless steel impeller and the standard Pro Boat impeller? — The source confirms this is a stainless steel model (PRB382001), and Pro Boat also offers a standard impeller (PRB282101) as a lower-cost alternative. The stainless steel version offers superior corrosion resistance and longevity, making it the preferred choice for saltwater use, regular play in mineral-rich freshwater, or if you demand maximum durability and performance retention. The standard impeller may be adequate for occasional freshwater use in clean conditions.
  • Can I fit this impeller myself, or do I need professional help? — The impeller is part of the jet pump assembly, and replacement requires removing the drive shaft set and associated components. While not overly complex, you'll need basic RC tools and should refer to your Jetstream 24 manual for the correct disassembly sequence. Wheelspin Models holds large stocks and their expert customer service team is available to provide guidance—you can contact them by phone on 01543 577278 or WhatsApp for advice before you start.
  • Is this compatible with all Jetstream models? — This impeller is specifically designed for the Pro Boat Jetstream 24. Always verify your model number before ordering to ensure correct fitment. Wheelspin Models' product page includes an interactive exploded view of the Pro Boat Jetstream 24 Jet Pump Assembly, which clearly shows this impeller's position and fitment.
  • What tools and parts do I need to replace the impeller? — You'll need the standard RC tools for disassembly (typically hex drivers and nut drivers, available from brands like RC Overhaul or Dynamite), plus a fresh impeller. After installation, Wheelspin Models recommends re-greasing the jet pump assembly with propshaft grease, such as Radio Active 30ml Propshaft Grease. The Drive Shaft Set (PRB282102) and Wear Ring (PRB282103) may also require inspection at the same time.
