This specification is crucial for competitive bashing where instantaneous power response directly impacts lap times and control.
- 3S1P Configuration (11.1V) — Operating at 11.1 volts across three cells in series, this voltage configuration is optimised for 1/8 and 1/10 scale RC cars, providing the ideal balance between power output and motor compatibility. This voltage is widely supported by brushless motors and ESCs designed for these scales.
- XT90 Connector — The robust XT90 connector provides superior electrical contact and minimises voltage sag during peak current draw, ensuring consistent power delivery and eliminating the performance fluctuations associated with inferior connectors. This connector type is favoured in demanding RC applications where reliability is essential.
- Soft Case Design — The soft case construction allows flexible installation into tight battery compartments whilst providing adequate protection against damage from impact and debris. The flexible case is less prone to hard-case brittleness whilst offering sufficient structural integrity for rigorous outdoor bashing use.
- Bashing Series Engineering — Specifically designed and tested for the demanding world of off-road RC bashing, this battery has been engineered to withstand repeated high-discharge cycles, extreme acceleration events, and the challenging thermal conditions associated with continuous-use sport driving.
- Recommended 1-3C Charge Rate — The flexible charge rate specification of 1–3C means you can choose slower, safer charging (1C takes 1 hour) for longevity, or faster charging (3C takes 20 minutes) when time is limited. This flexibility accommodates both casual users and competitive racers with different charging priorities.
Technical Performance
The Gens Ace G-Tech 6500mAh battery represents mature lithium-polymer technology optimised for the specific demands of RC car bashers and racers. With a continuous discharge rating of 60C, this battery is engineered to deliver up to 390 amps of continuous current (6500mAh × 60C), providing the instantaneous power response essential for aggressive 1/8 and 1/10 scale driving. The 11.1V nominal voltage places it in the sweet spot for brushless motor systems commonly found in modern RC cars, where it will deliver strong torque and acceleration without exceeding motor specifications. The soft case construction utilises high-quality lithium-polymer materials that balance weight savings with structural integrity, maintaining shape and electrical performance even after repeated charge cycles and the stresses of competitive use. At 421 grams, the weight is distributed across the compact 154 x 46 x 26 mm form factor, ensuring optimal weight distribution in most 1/8 and 1/10 chassis. The XT90 connector features low-resistance gold-plated contacts that maintain clean electrical connection throughout the battery's operational life, eliminating performance degradation from corroded or loose connections common with inferior connector types. The Bashing Series designation indicates this pack has been qualified for high-discharge applications, with thermal management properties engineered to handle continuous current draw without excessive temperature rise. Recommended charging at 1–3C rates ensures you can balance charging convenience with battery longevity, as slower charging rates reduce stress on internal cell structures.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Gens Ace G-Tech 6500mAh battery suitable for my 1/8 scale ARRMA RC car? — Yes, this battery is specifically designed for 1/8 and 1/10 scale RC vehicles and fits into all ARRMA 1/8 models including the Typhoon, Kraton, Nero, Senton, Outcast, Tailon, Big Rock, and Fazon. The 154 x 46 x 26 mm dimensions fit seamlessly into the battery compartments of these models, and the 11.1V output is perfectly matched to their brushless motor systems.
- What runtime can I expect with the 6500mAh capacity? — Runtime depends on your specific RC car's motor system, ESC programming, driving style, and terrain, but the 6500mAh capacity is considered high-capacity for 1/8 and 1/10 scale vehicles, typically providing 15–25 minutes of continuous driving depending on these variables. Casual bashing generally yields longer run times than competitive racing.
- Can I charge this battery with standard RC chargers? — Yes, the Gens Ace G-Tech battery is compatible with any charger capable of balancing 3S LiPo batteries. The recommended charge rate is 1–3C, meaning a charger set to 6.5 amps (1C) will charge the battery in approximately one hour, whilst 3C charging at 19.5 amps completes charging in roughly 20 minutes. We recommend a quality multi-chemistry charger for safety and longevity.
- What does the 60C rating actually mean in practical terms? — The 60C rating indicates the battery can safely discharge 60 times its capacity in amps continuously, meaning this 6500mAh battery can deliver 390 amps of continuous current. In practical RC car use, this translates to responsive acceleration, stable power during hard cornering, and consistent performance without voltage sag even during the most demanding driving.
- How does the XT90 connector compare to other standard RC connectors? — The XT90 connector offers superior electrical contact and significantly lower resistance compared to older connector standards, resulting in less voltage drop during peak current draw. This means more of the battery's available power reaches your motor and ESC rather than being lost as heat in the connector itself, directly translating to better performance and acceleration.
- Is this a soft case or hard case battery? — This is a soft case battery, which offers several advantages for practical RC use: the flexible case compresses slightly for installation in tight battery compartments, the soft material is less prone to cracking from impact compared to rigid hard cases, and the overall design maintains adequate protection during storage and transport whilst keeping weight to a minimum.
- What is the difference between the G-Tech 6500mAh XT90 and the G-Tech 5000mAh XT90? — The primary difference is capacity: the 6500mAh provides 30 percent more energy storage than the 5000mAh, translating to extended runtime between charge cycles. Both share the same 11.1V voltage and 60C discharge rating, so the choice depends whether you prioritise maximum run time or prefer the slightly reduced weight of the smaller pack.
- How should I store this battery when not in use? — LiPo batteries should be stored in a cool, dry location at approximately 50 percent charge state. Avoid storing at full charge or completely depleted, as both extreme states can reduce the battery's lifespan and performance. If storing for extended periods, check the voltage monthly and top up to 50 percent if needed.
- Is the XT90 connector polarised, preventing incorrect connection? — Yes, the XT90 connector features keyed polarisation that prevents reverse connection to your ESC, protecting your electronic speed controller and motor from damage caused by reversed polarity.
