The HYDRA X 8S is based on our popular and powerful Mamba Monster X 8S. We've removed the air cooled heatsink and added a water-cooled heatsink. The final touch is an aluminum top plate that gives it a sleek and polished appearance. Attached to the top plate are two .17 aluminum water fittings and uses standard 10-32 UNF threads. The HYDRA X 8S is the ultimate enhancement that propels high-performance monohulls, up to 36 inches in length, to new heights.
CRYO-DRIVET, Castle's proprietary breakthrough technology, integrates unique software to reduce heat and dramatically increase performance. Thousands of times per second, the Hydra X 8S software minimizes the amount of time the electrical components spend generating heat. The results are more power handling, cooler ESC temperatures and longer runtimes and ultra-high performance.
It's easy to dial in ESC settings, update ESC firmware and view data logs with Castle Link USB programming kit (coupon for USB adapter included with purchase) and a WindowsT PC, or wirelessly with the convenience of the new B-LinkT BluetoothT Adapter and Castle Link app for Android or iOS. Additional tuning flexibility is available with on-the-fly adjustments from a compatible transmitter via the Auxiliary wire. It's as easy as connecting the white signal wire to an open radio channel and enabling the feature in Castle Link by selecting what Auxiliary function is preferred.

Castle's newest software technology, CRYO-DRIVE minimizes the amount of time the ESC's electrical components spend generating heat by optimally controlling which components are being used while driving the motor. This is happening thousands of times per second, which greatly reduces the rate at which the ESC heats up. This results in significantly improved thermal performance during partial throttle operation where the majority of driving occurs. Your setup will be able to handle higher gear ratios, in heavier vehicles, with longer runs.
When paired with a Castle 4-POLE 12-SLOT SENSORED MOTOR SmartSense software, enabled by default in the Castle Link Programming Suite, will use the motor's sensors to provide smooth starts, excellent torque, and low-speed drivability. Once the motor is turning, it seamlessly transitions to Castle's ULTRA-EFFICIENT sensorless mode with electric timing. Smooth sensored startups and high-efficiency sensorless running makes the Hydra XLX2 system produce more power and less heat. QUIETSENSET is an innovative advancement in the design of sensored motors to deliver the highest precision and most efficient startup.

Hydra X 8S is telemetry ready, which means owners of Futaba 4PX, 7PX, 7PXR, and T10PX transmitters will be able to purchase the Castle Creations Telemetry Link for S.BUS2. Real-time data such as ESC temperature, voltages, and RPM can be monitored to ensure performance advantages and spare you the unknown parameters that all R/C enthusiasts experience at some point. Telemetry data provides another level of protection and can increase performance.
Housed in a rugged CNC-machined aluminum case and then potted in waterproof epoxy. This not only protects the electronics but ensures any heat generated in the controller can easily be dissipated through the case.
Hydra X 8S features Audible Alerts that will notify you via audible chimes of possible issues with calibrations and error conditions to help diagnose problems.

We want to make sure your delivery goes smoothly, so here are some important details about our service:
- For orders above £120, we offer delivery to most mainland UK addresses. For orders under £120, we can still deliver to Northern Ireland and the outlying isles, as long as the item can be sent by Royal Mail, weighs less than 30kg, and fits within 61cm × 46cm × 46cm. Some highland and remote areas may carry an extra delivery charge as couriers often apply surcharges in these locations. If you live in one of these areas, feel free to contact us before ordering so we can confirm the delivery options and costs for you.
- Most of our products include delivery in the price. If your order is under £90, a small delivery fee will apply but do not worry this will always be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
- Depending on what you choose at checkout, your order will usually be delivered either the next working day or within 2 working days. For next day delivery please place your order before 2:00pm. Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday only. Some items may take a little longer and if that is the case we will always show the expected delivery time on the product page.
- If your order includes items with different dispatch times we will normally wait and send everything together once all items are in stock. If one of the items is going to take a while we will give you the choice either wait for everything to arrive or let us send the available items now and deliver the rest later. It is up to you.
- We use trusted delivery partners to make sure your order gets to you safely and on time. We use DPD for next working day deliveries and Royal Mail for the 2 day option.
- As soon as your order is on its way we will send you a tracking number by email. If you provide your mobile number at checkout we will also send delivery updates straight to your phone so you can keep an eye on progress.
- If a product is marked as "Dispatched within 3 working days" delivery usually takes around 3 to 5 working days from when your order is placed.
- For customers in Inverness and other parts of the Scottish Highlands deliveries can take up to 2 working days even if you select next day delivery as couriers do not currently offer a guaranteed next day service to those areas.
