Overview

The AXIAL Brass Steering Knuckle, L/R (116g): PRO Z-AXI332008 is a premium upgrade component designed specifically for the Axial SCX10 Pro Scaler 1:10 4WD Kit. This left and right steering knuckle set represents a significant performance enhancement for serious RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand precision handling and durability from their scale crawlers. Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend basher, or dedicated hobbyist exploring the world of RC car tuning and customisation, this brass steering knuckle upgrade delivers the material quality and engineering excellence that Axial is renowned for.

Steering knuckles are critical components in any RC crawler's suspension system, responsible for connecting the steering servo input to the wheel hub assembly and dictating how precisely your vehicle responds to directional changes. The choice of material in steering knuckles directly impacts both handling characteristics and longevity under demanding terrain conditions. This AXIAL component is machined from brass, a material choice that offers distinct advantages over standard plastic alternatives, making it an essential upgrade for any SCX10 Pro owner looking to improve their crawling experience and increase durability during challenging off-road adventures.

As a dedicated RC retailer serving the UK market, RC Model Shop stocks genuine AXIAL components and understands the importance of quality spare parts and tune-up options for maintaining peak performance in your RC car collection. This steering knuckle set comes as a left and right pair, ready to be installed on your SCX10 Pro platform, and represents exactly the kind of precision engineering and material quality that serious RC enthusiasts expect when upgrading their vehicles.

Key Features

  • Brass Construction — This steering knuckle is manufactured from brass rather than standard plastic, providing superior strength and durability during extended crawling sessions, which means it will withstand impacts and stress better than lighter alternatives, making it ideal for rocky terrain, jumps, and aggressive driving styles.
  • Left and Right Pair — The kit includes both left and right steering knuckles, so you have everything needed to upgrade your front steering geometry in one purchase, eliminating the need to buy multiple separate components for a complete front-end upgrade.
  • 116g Weight — The specified weight of 116 grams allows you to make informed decisions about your vehicle's overall centre of gravity and handling balance, which is particularly important for scale crawlers where weight distribution directly affects traction and articulation on uneven terrain.
  • AXIAL Engineering — Designed and manufactured by AXIAL, a brand with established expertise in rock crawling and scale RC vehicles, ensuring that every dimension and material choice has been tested and validated for the SCX10 Pro platform.
  • Direct Compatibility — These steering knuckles are engineered specifically for the Axial SCX10 Pro Scaler 1:10 4WD Kit (C-AXI03028), guaranteeing perfect fit and alignment without modification or adaptation.
  • Precision Steering Response — Brass knuckles provide superior steering feel compared to plastic alternatives, allowing you to make more precise directional inputs and achieve better control during technical crawling sections and competitive courses.

Technical Performance

The AXIAL Brass Steering Knuckle represents a carefully engineered solution for improving the steering performance and durability of the SCX10 Pro platform. Constructed from brass rather than the plastic materials found in stock components, these steering knuckles deliver superior strength-to-weight characteristics and maintain dimensional stability under the stress and temperature variations experienced during extended RC driving sessions. The brass material selected for this component offers enhanced resistance to impact damage whilst maintaining the precision tolerances required for smooth servo-to-wheel response. At 116 grams for the complete left and right pair, these knuckles integrate seamlessly into your SCX10 Pro's existing chassis geometry without requiring extensive rebalancing. The engineering focus on durability and precision makes these steering knuckles particularly valuable for UK RC enthusiasts who regularly tackle challenging outdoor terrain where plastic components might fail under repeated stress. Installation on the compatible Axial SCX10 Pro platform is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance knowledge, making this an accessible yet sophisticated upgrade for both experienced builders and those newer to the RC hobby who want to invest in reliability and performance improvements.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a steering knuckle and why should I upgrade to brass? — A steering knuckle is the component that connects your servo to the wheel hub, directing where your RC crawler turns. Upgrading from plastic to brass provides significantly greater durability and strength, which prevents breakage during demanding crawling sessions and maintains better steering precision over extended use. For UK RC enthusiasts who invest in quality vehicles like the SCX10 Pro, upgrading steering knuckles is one of the most effective first modifications you can make.
  • Will these steering knuckles fit my SCX10 Pro? — Yes, these AXIAL Brass Steering Knuckles (Z-AXI332008) are specifically designed and engineered for the Axial SCX10 Pro Scaler 1:10 4WD Kit (C-AXI03028). They will fit directly without modification or adaptation, provided you are working with the SCX10 Pro platform.
  • How much do these steering knuckles weigh and why does it matter? — These steering knuckles weigh 116 grams for the complete left and right pair. Weight matters in RC vehicles because it affects your vehicle's centre of gravity, handling balance, and how the suspension articulates over obstacles. Understanding the weight of upgraded components helps you maintain optimal vehicle balance.
  • Are these suitable for competitive crawling? — Absolutely. Brass steering knuckles are particularly valued in competitive crawling circles because they provide superior durability and steering precision compared to plastic alternatives. If you're considering entering local UK RC crawling competitions or simply want competition-grade reliability for your weekend drives, these are an excellent investment.
  • What is the difference between brass and plastic steering knuckles? — Brass steering knuckles offer superior strength, impact resistance, and durability compared to plastic alternatives, whilst maintaining precise steering response. Plastic knuckles may flex or break under stress, whereas brass maintains its form and delivers consistent steering feel even after many hours of use. For serious RC enthusiasts in the UK, brass represents the premium choice.
  • Do I need any special tools to install these? — Installation requires standard RC model tools and basic mechanical knowledge. As with any suspension upgrade, we recommend consulting the Axial SCX10 Pro manual and having appropriate hex drivers and suspension tools available.
