Overview

The AXIAL Knuckles in Brass (L/R) are essential upgrade components for SCX24 and AX24 RC crawlers, designed to enhance performance and handling characteristics on challenging terrain. These precision-engineered brass knuckles combine durability with intelligent weight distribution, making them an ideal choice for RC enthusiasts looking to optimise their 1/24 scale crawler. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or exploring the world of small-scale rock crawling, these brass knuckles deliver tangible improvements in vehicle stability and off-road capability.

Built by AXIAL, a manufacturer renowned for producing high-quality RC crawler components and ready to run models, these knuckles represent a popular upgrade path for SCX24 and AX24 owners. The brass construction provides superior durability compared to plastic alternatives, ensuring long-lasting performance through countless rock gardens, obstacles and technical terrain. This tune-up component is particularly favoured by UK RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and consistent performance from their crawler setups.

These left and right knuckles work together as a transmission upgrade to fundamentally improve your rig's weight distribution and handling characteristics. By strategically placing additional weight in the chassis, you gain measurable benefits in side hill climbing capability and overall stability, making them a worthwhile investment for any serious SCX24 or AX24 owner.

Key Features

  • Brass Construction — The knuckles are manufactured from brass, a material chosen for its superior durability and ability to withstand the stresses of rock crawling and challenging terrain, providing better longevity than plastic alternatives.
  • Left and Right Pair — These knuckles are sold as a matched L/R pair, meaning you receive both components necessary to upgrade your entire steering and suspension assembly in one purchase.
  • 12.5g Weight Each — Each brass knuckle weighs 12.5g, providing meaningful weight addition that contributes to lower centre of gravity positioning and improved weight distribution across your chassis.
  • Lower Centre of Gravity — By adding weight strategically positioned on the knuckles, your rig's overall centre of gravity is lowered, which directly improves stability and reduces the likelihood of rollovers during aggressive climbing and traversal.
  • Outboard Weight Placement — The knuckles position added weight far out from the centre of the chassis, expanding your vehicle's effective weight distribution and improving how the rig responds to uneven terrain and extreme angles.
  • Enhanced Side Hill Capability — The improved weight distribution significantly increases your crawler's ability to traverse side slopes and steep hillsides without tipping, a critical performance metric in rock crawling competitions and technical terrain.
  • Increased Overall Stability — Combined with the lower centre of gravity and outboard weight placement, these knuckles create a more stable platform that responds predictably to driver input and terrain changes.
  • SCX24 and AX24 Compatibility — These knuckles are engineered specifically for AXIAL's 1/24 scale SCX24 and AX24 platforms, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal performance with your existing setup.

Technical Performance

The AXIAL Knuckles represent a precision engineering solution for 1/24 scale RC crawlers, combining material science with practical weight management. Constructed entirely from brass, a material specifically selected for its superior strength-to-weight ratio and durability in demanding off-road environments, these knuckles maintain their integrity through countless hours of obstacle negotiation and technical terrain navigation. The 12.5g weight of each knuckle is carefully calculated to provide meaningful performance improvements without overwhelming the delicate balance of 1/24 scale vehicles. When installed as a matching pair on both left and right sides of your SCX24 or AX24, they create a coordinated weight distribution strategy that fundamentally alters how your crawler responds to extreme angles, side slopes and technical obstacles. The transmission classification of this upgrade reflects its role in the overall drivetrain and suspension geometry, working in concert with existing steering and suspension components to optimise your crawler's capability across a comprehensive range of terrain types and climbing challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will these brass knuckles fit my SCX24 or AX24 crawler? — Yes, these knuckles are engineered specifically for AXIAL SCX24 and AX24 platforms and will integrate perfectly with your existing setup without modification.
  • How much weight do these knuckles add to my rig? — Each brass knuckle weighs 12.5g, so the complete left and right pair adds 25g total weight to your chassis, strategically positioned to lower centre of gravity and improve stability.
  • What advantages do brass knuckles offer over plastic alternatives? — Brass knuckles provide significantly superior durability and longevity compared to plastic components, with better resistance to impact damage and wear. They also maintain their properties in varying weather conditions and terrain types encountered in UK rock crawling.
  • Why is lower centre of gravity important for rock crawling? — A lower centre of gravity reduces the likelihood of your rig tipping over when climbing steep angles or traversing side slopes, which directly improves your stability and scoring potential in technical terrain challenges.
  • Will adding these knuckles change how my crawler handles? — Yes, positively. The added weight positioned on the knuckles, combined with outboard placement away from the chassis centre, improves side hill capability and overall stability, making your crawler more predictable and easier to control in challenging situations.
  • Are these knuckles suitable for beginners? — These are a tune-up component rather than a complete vehicle, so they're best suited for owners who already have an SCX24 or AX24 ready to run RC crawler and are looking to enhance its performance characteristics.
  • What type of maintenance do brass knuckles require? — Brass components are relatively low-maintenance. Standard RC maintenance practices, including occasional cleaning and inspection for damage after intense terrain use, will keep them in optimal condition.
