As a ready-to-run radio solution, the Etronix Pulse EX6G arrives with everything you need to get started, making it suitable for experienced RC enthusiasts looking to expand their fleet with multi-function capability. The system's straightforward operation combined with advanced features ensures that whether you're a seasoned competitor or weekend basher, you'll find the control and reliability you demand from quality RC radio gear.

Key Features

  • 2.4GHz FHSS Radio System — The frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology provides secure, interference-resistant communication with your RC model, ensuring reliable signal transmission in crowded airspace where many RC enthusiasts operate their models. This is the modern standard for RC radio systems across the UK and worldwide.
  • 6-Channel Control — Six independent channels allow you to assign control functions to your model's steering, throttle, and up to four additional auxiliary channels. This level of control is perfect for complex scale crawlers and models requiring independent operation of lights, winches, 2-speed gearboxes, and dig units simultaneously.
  • Up to 400 Metres Range — The extended transmission range allows you to operate your RC model from significant distances, providing genuine freedom and control whether you're running across open terrain or exploring complex course layouts. This range is more than adequate for most surface RC applications.
  • Brake and Failsafe Function — Integrated brake and failsafe protection ensures your model responds safely if signal is lost, with programmable failsafe actions to prevent runaway situations. This safety feature is essential for responsible RC operation, particularly in populated areas.
  • Flexible Power Options — Power your transmitter with either four AA alkaline batteries for convenient field use or a 7.4V 2S LiPo battery for extended operating sessions. The choice of power source gives you flexibility depending on your usage patterns and budget.
  • Receiver Supports High-Voltage Servos — The included receiver is engineered to handle modern high-voltage servos, allowing you to upgrade to faster, more powerful servo units as your scale model collection expands and your servo requirements evolve.
  • Battery Low Voltage Warning — Clear LED indicators alert you when battery voltage drops, preventing unexpected power loss during operation. This practical safety feature keeps you informed of power status throughout your RC sessions.
  • Servo Reversing — Individually reverse the direction of each servo channel without opening the model, saving time during setup and allowing quick adjustments during testing. This convenience feature streamlines the setup process considerably.
  • Dual Rate Adjustment — Reduce control sensitivity for smooth, precise movements or increase it for responsive, aggressive handling. Dual rate adjustment lets you adapt the radio's response to different driving conditions and personal preference with a simple switch.
  • LED Light Indicator for Modes and Warnings — Visual feedback through LED indicators keeps you informed of radio status, binding state, and any system warnings. This at-a-glance information prevents surprises during operation.
  • Mixed Mode Function — Create custom control combinations where multiple channels work together in coordinated sequences. This advanced feature allows experienced builders to create sophisticated scale animations and coordinated model movements.
  • Simulator Jack — Connect your radio to an RC simulator for practice and training. The simulator jack enables you to develop driving skills and test complex control assignments without wearing components or damaging models.
  • USB Connection — Direct USB connection to your computer allows for firmware updates and potential future feature expansion, ensuring your radio system stays current with the latest capabilities and improvements.
  • Optional Gyro Integrated Receiver (ET1162G) — For stabilisation-focused applications, an optional gyro-equipped receiver is available as a separate purchase. This receiver variant suits drift cars and scale models where gyro stabilisation enhances scale realism or drivability.

Technical Performance

The Etronix Pulse EX6G represents solid engineering in the mid-range radio system category. Operating on the universal 2.4GHz frequency band with FHSS protocol, it avoids the interference issues that plagued older 27MHz and 75MHz systems common in vintage RC cars. The six-channel architecture provides genuine multi-function capability beyond basic steering and throttle, distinguishing it from entry-level four-channel systems. With 400 metres of effective range, it performs reliably in most UK operating environments from indoor halls to outdoor fields. The dual power options—four AA batteries or 7.4V 2S LiPo—demonstrate flexibility in design, with LiPo operation offering superior energy density for extended sessions. The receiver's compatibility with high-voltage servos (typically 6-7.4V) means you can equip your models with modern, fast servo units capable of tight, responsive movement. LED indicators provide essential feedback about system status, whilst the brake and failsafe functions add safety layers appropriate for responsible model operation. The included simulator jack opens possibilities for skills development using commercial RC simulators, valuable for honing driving technique before field operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Etronix Pulse EX6G suitable for beginners? — Whilst the EX6G is not positioned as an entry-level system, experienced RC enthusiasts transitioning from simpler radios will find it accessible. The straightforward wheel-style layout is familiar to most RC users. However, absolute beginners might find the 6-channel capability more than necessary; a basic 4-channel system may be more appropriate for learning fundamentals. Once you've mastered basic RC operation, the EX6G's additional channels become valuable for expanding into complex scale models.
  • What battery does the Etronix Pulse EX6G need? — The transmitter is powered by either four AA alkaline batteries (a convenient field option available at any convenience store) or a 7.4V 2S LiPo battery pack (sold separately). The LiPo option provides approximately double the operating time compared to AA batteries, making it popular for lengthy sessions. Most RC enthusiasts choose LiPo for regular use due to superior value over time.
  • Can this radio system work with my current RC car or truck? — Yes, the EX6G is suitable for cars, boats, and tanks as confirmed by Etronix. If your model currently uses a compatible receiver, you can upgrade immediately. Confirm compatibility with RC Model Shop staff by providing your model details. The system's 400-metre range exceeds the requirements of virtually all surface RC models.
  • What models benefit most from 6-channel control? — Scale crawler enthusiasts particularly appreciate the EX6G because crawlers often require independent control of lights, front and rear winches, locking differentials, and auxiliary accessories. Similarly, scale trucks benefit from independent light switching and auxiliary functions. Even standard RC cars and buggies can assign channels to lights or onboard cameras, adding realism and functionality to your setup.
  • How does the failsafe function work? — If your transmitter signal is lost beyond range, the failsafe automatically triggers programmed actions—typically stopping the throttle and steering to neutral, preventing your model from driving away uncontrolled. This safety feature is essential when operating near spectators or in public spaces, providing reassurance that loss of signal won't result in a runaway model.
  • Can I use the Etronix Pulse EX6G with a simulator? — Yes, the simulator jack allows connection to compatible RC driving simulators, enabling you to practise techniques and test control assignments virtually before field operation. This represents excellent value for skills development and circuit familiarisation without component wear.
  • What is the difference between the standard EX6G receiver and the optional gyro version? — The standard receiver (ET1162) provides basic 6-channel control. The optional gyro-integrated receiver (ET1162G) adds onboard gyro stabilisation, typically useful for drift cars where gyro assistance improves controllability, or scale models where gyro-enhanced realism is desired. Choose the standard receiver for conventional operation; upgrade to the gyro version only if your specific model benefits from gyro stabilisation.
