Technical Performance
The PRO 1/10 1981 Ford Bronco Clear Body is engineered with exceptional attention to scale detail and structural integrity. Measuring 527mm in length, 296mm in width, and 153mm in height with a 331mm wheelbase, this body delivers authentic proportions that immediately distinguish your short-course truck from standard factory bodywork. Constructed from genuine GE Lexan polycarbonate, the clear shell provides excellent impact resistance and durability during aggressive bashing and racing sessions, whilst the crystal-clear finish allows full visibility of detailed paint and decal work. The integrated paint-then-peel overspray film eliminates the need for complex masking techniques, streamlining the customisation process and ensuring professional results. This body transforms any compatible short-course platform—whether Traxxas Slash 2WD, Slash 4x4, or equivalent SC10-based trucks—into a genuine old-school Bronco replica. The body's engineering emphasises authentic scale appearance whilst maintaining the structural rigidity required for genuine RC performance. To achieve optimal fit and authentic proportions, you will need Pro-Line extended body mount kits (sold separately) specific to your chassis platform, ensuring your new Bronco body sits perfectly and maintains the true-scale aesthetic for which this shell is renowned.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What chassis is this body compatible with? — This Pro-Line Bronco body is designed for 1/10 scale short-course trucks and fits Traxxas Slash (2WD and 4x4), SC10 2WD, Pro-Line PRO-2 SC, and other compatible short-course platforms. However, you will need Pro-Line extended body mount kits specific to your chassis model (sold separately) to ensure proper fit and authentic scale proportions.
- Is this body ready to run, or do I need to paint it? — This is a clear, unpainted body shell. It arrives as genuine GE Lexan polycarbonate that you customise by painting with your chosen colours and applying the included decal sheet. The body-ready preparation is straightforward, involving cleaning, masking with the included window templates, painting, peeling the overspray film, and adding the decals before mounting onto your truck.
- What makes this body different from standard short-course shells? — The 1981 Ford Bronco body offers authentic, licensed scale styling that transforms your truck into a true-scale representation of a legendary off-road vehicle, completely changing the aesthetic compared to standard factory bodywork. The unique proportions and classic design immediately set your rig apart at the track or bash spot.
- Do I need special painting skills to customise this body? — The integrated paint-then-peel overspray film eliminates the need for complex masking, making the painting process straightforward for users of all experience levels. Simply apply the window templates, paint your colours, and peel away the film to reveal crisp, clean results—no masking tape required for the side panels.
- What paint should I use on this clear Lexan body? — You will need polycarbonate-specific RC body paint, which adheres properly to the Lexan material. Standard automotive or acrylic paints will not bond correctly. Pro-Line and other RC manufacturers produce paint specifically formulated for polycarbonate bodies.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, this clear body is suitable for RC enthusiasts of all experience levels. The painting process is straightforward thanks to the included window templates and paint-then-peel overspray film, and the body's construction is durable enough for aggressive bashing. You will need to ensure you have a compatible chassis and the appropriate extended body mount kit, but the body itself is beginner-friendly.
- Why do I need extended body mounts for proper fit? — The authentic scale proportions of this 1981 Bronco body require extended body mounts to sit correctly on your short-course chassis and maintain the genuine old-school aesthetic. Standard body mounts will not position the shell at the correct height and distance from the chassis, compromising both appearance and handling characteristics.
- Can I use this body on platforms other than Traxxas? — This body is compatible with 1/10 scale short-course truck platforms including Associated Trophy Rat Rod and other SC10-based vehicles. You will need to source or fabricate appropriate extended body mount hardware for non-Traxxas platforms to ensure proper fitment.
