Key Features
- 4000mAh capacity with 11.1V (3S) output — This combination delivers long-lasting, high-capacity power perfect for extended run times during races or bashing sessions. The 4000mAh rating means you'll enjoy significantly more playtime between charges compared to smaller capacity packs, while the 11.1V three-cell configuration provides the right balance of power and compatibility with most modern brushless RC car systems without risking component damage from excessive voltage.
- 50C burst discharge rate with 30C constant discharge — The battery can deliver up to 200A of burst current and 120A of continuous current, meaning it handles the intense power demands of high-performance brushless motors and demanding ESCs without faltering. This exceptional discharge rate ensures your RC car maintains snappy acceleration, responsive handling and consistent top speed even under full throttle conditions, with minimal voltage sag that would otherwise rob you of performance.
- Hard ABS case construction — Unlike soft-pack batteries that can be crushed or damaged easily, this reinforced hard case provides robust protection against impacts, vibrations and track debris. The protective shell safeguards the internal cells through intense racing or extended bashing, significantly extending battery lifespan and maintaining structural integrity even when your RC car takes a hard hit or rough landing.
- Low-profile design for compact fitment — With dimensions of approximately 138 × 46 × 24mm, this battery fits into tight battery compartments that standard packs cannot. The reduced height allows installation in most existing battery trays without modification, and more importantly, lowers your vehicle's centre of gravity for improved handling characteristics and better overall performance through technical corners and challenging terrain.
- EC5 connector for high-current applications — The EC5 connector is specifically designed for high-current transfer in demanding setups, providing efficient power delivery and minimal resistance compared to smaller connector types. This connector reduces voltage drop under load, meaning more power reaches your motor exactly when you need it, resulting in stronger acceleration and more consistent top-end performance throughout your driving session.
- 10 AWG silicone leads with JST-XH balance connector — Heavy-gauge silicone wiring reduces internal resistance and heat generation during discharge, while the JST-XH balance connector works with any modern LiPo charger to ensure each of the three cells charges evenly. This balanced charging approach maintains cell health, extends overall battery lifespan and prevents the dangerous conditions that arise from unbalanced cells.
- Fully matched cells for consistent performance — Before assembly, all battery cells are precisely matched in three ways: internal resistance, voltage and weight. This rigorous quality control ensures every battery pack performs identically to the next, delivering predictable and reliable power output across every charge cycle, so you experience consistent behaviour whether it's your first charge or your hundredth.
- Sport Track series recognition and proven reliability — The Sport Track range has been tried and tested by RC enthusiasts new and old, earning recognition for offering consistent power and durability with exceptional results. Whether you're a beginner exploring the hobby or a seasoned competitor, you're purchasing a battery range with a proven track record used successfully by the broader RC community across the UK.
Technical Performance
The Overlander 3261EC5 LiPo battery represents genuine engineering excellence within the Sport Track series. With a constant discharge rating of 30C and burst capability reaching 50C, this pack delivers maximum continuous current of 120A and maximum burst current of 200A—figures that place it firmly in the performance tier suitable for brushless RC cars and trucks. The 44.4Wh total energy output strikes an ideal balance between endurance and weight, providing exceptional runtime for competitive racing conditions without unnecessary bulk. The stacking construction method used in manufacturing these cells creates stronger voltage stability compared to cheaper winding-method alternatives, ensuring voltage remains more consistent throughout your driving session. Weight-wise, the complete pack tips the scales at approximately 292 grams, a respectable figure for a 4000mAh hard-case battery that prioritises durability alongside performance. The 10 AWG silicone leads minimise internal resistance, reducing heat generation during high-demand driving and protecting cell longevity. The hard ABS case construction provides genuine protection against the rough treatment typical RC cars endure during competitive racing or weekend bashing, with the low-profile geometry making this an intelligent choice for platforms where tight battery compartments and weight distribution matter. The JST-XH balance connector ensures compatibility with any modern balance charger, allowing precise cell-level charging that maintains the electrical balance essential for safe operation and consistent performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Overlander 3261EC5 suitable for beginners to RC cars? — Yes, this battery is suitable for beginners, particularly those with vehicles designed for 3S LiPo power. However, beginners must understand that LiPo batteries require responsible charging practices including using a dedicated LiPo balance charger with voltage cut-off protection. You'll need to learn proper storage (around 50% charge in a cool place), avoid over-discharging below 3.0V per cell, and never overcharge beyond 4.2V per cell. If you're new to lithium batteries, take time to understand these requirements before purchasing.
- What are the advantages of the hard case design compared to soft-pack batteries? — Hard case batteries provide superior protection against physical damage from impacts, vibrations and rough handling typical in RC racing and bashing. The reinforced ABS shell keeps internal cells secure and properly positioned, preventing swelling or damage that soft packs are vulnerable to. This protection translates to longer battery lifespan, more consistent performance and safer operation through your RC vehicle's demanding use.
- Does this battery come with a charger? — No, the battery does not include a charger. You'll need to purchase a dedicated LiPo balance charger separately. Your charger must support 3S LiPo chemistry, feature voltage cut-off to prevent overcharging, and include a balance connector lead for the JST-XH connector included with this battery. A quality LiPo charger typically charges this 4000mAh pack in approximately 130 minutes.
- Why is the low-profile design beneficial for RC cars? — The reduced height of approximately 24mm allows this battery to fit in tight battery compartments without modification, fitting most standard battery trays as though designed specifically for that space. More importantly, the lower profile lowers your vehicle's centre of gravity, which improves handling characteristics, increases stability through corners, and enhances overall performance on technical tracks or challenging terrain. For touring cars, drift setups and buggies particularly, this gravitational advantage translates to more predictable and competitive driving dynamics.
- How long will this battery last in my RC car? — Runtime depends entirely on your vehicle's motor, ESC settings, driving style and terrain. The 4000mAh capacity provides substantial energy, but aggressive full-throttle driving depletes charge faster than more measured throttle control. Users report approximately 35 minutes of driving time with their Traxxas Stampede 2WD VXL when driven with consistent throttle pressure. We recommend fully testing your specific setup to understand your expected runtime before racing.
- What makes the EC5 connector preferable to other connector types? — The EC5 connector is engineered specifically for high-current applications, providing excellent contact surface and minimal resistance compared to smaller connector types like Deans or XT60. This means efficient power transfer with reduced voltage drop under load, ensuring maximum power reaches your motor exactly when you need it. For high-performance brushless setups demanding consistent power delivery, the EC5 is an excellent choice.
- How does the stacking construction method benefit this battery? — The stacking construction method used in manufacturing creates stronger, more reliable voltage delivery compared to cheaper winding-method construction used in budget imports. Stacking construction is recognised for superior longevity, meaning cells maintain their performance characteristics through many more charge cycles. This results in a battery pack that delivers consistent power throughout its lifespan, compared to alternatives that degrade more quickly.
- Is this battery BRCA-approved for competitive racing? — Yes, this battery is BRCA-approved, making it suitable for competition use in UK RC racing events that require compliance with British Radio Car Association standards. This approval provides assurance that the battery meets safety and performance standards recognised by the competitive RC racing community.
- What is the difference between 30C constant and 50C burst discharge? — The 30C constant discharge rating (120A maximum) is the sustained current the battery can safely deliver continuously throughout your driving session. The 50C burst rating (200A maximum) is a temporary boost available for short periods when you demand maximum acceleration or aggressive manoeuvres. The burst capacity provides that explosive power response when needed, while the constant rating ensures reliable performance throughout extended use.
- How should I store this battery when not in use? — Store the battery at approximately 50% charge (around 3.7V to 3.85V per cell) in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, heat sources and freezing temperatures. Check the battery every couple of months and adjust charge back to 50% if needed. Never store a fully charged or completely discharged battery for extended periods, as both conditions stress the cells and reduce lifespan. Consider using a dedicated LiPo storage bag for added safety.
