Overview

This is a pair of Buck Shot 1:8 Buggy Tires. The Buck Shot debuted at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and is already a Winner at the hands Pro-Line Team Driver Ty Tessmann! The Buck Shot has pins that are very close in size to the amazing Hole Shot 2.0 but the Buck Shot pins are stacked closer together side to side, which provides significantly longer lasting performance. Unique to the Buck Shot are the alternating elongated bars that provide incredible forward grip! Similar to the extremely popular SwitchBlade tire, the Buck Shot is a directional tire with different tread on the outside compared to the inside, allowing you to mount the tires in the direction that suits your current track conditions. One side of the tire has standard pins, which is ideal for loose or low traction conditions where you want the tire to add side grip and improve steering. When you mount the tire the other direction, the connected side tread (Blade) reduces side traction in high-bite or edgy conditions. Racers who have tried the Buck Shot are saying that it is their new favorite tire! Be the first at your track to win with Pro-Line's new Buck Shot!

Overview

The Pro-Line 1/8 Buck Shot M3 Front/Rear Off-Road Buggy Tyres are premium competition-grade tyres designed for serious RC buggy racers and enthusiasts across the UK. This pair of high-performance 1/8 scale tyres made their debut at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and have already proven themselves as race winners in the hands of Pro-Line Team Driver Ty Tessmann. Whether you're competing at your local RC track or bashing in the garden, the Buck Shot delivers exceptional performance that has impressed racers who are calling them their new favourite tyre. These are the tyres you need if you're serious about RC buggy racing in the UK and want to compete with professional-grade equipment.

The Buck Shot M3 represents a significant advancement in 1/8 buggy tyre technology. Built on years of Pro-Line's racing expertise, these tyres deliver the combination of grip, durability and consistency that competitive RC car enthusiasts demand. The innovative design features pins that are similar in size to the legendary Hole Shot 2.0 tyres, but stacked much closer together side to side, which means you get significantly longer lasting performance without sacrificing the forward traction that wins races. This makes the Buck Shot M3 an exceptional choice for racers who want premium performance without the expense of constantly replacing worn tyres.

What sets the Buck Shot apart in the competitive RC buggy market is its innovative directional tread design, similar to the popular SwitchBlade tyre. This unique feature allows you to mount the tyres in different directions depending on your track conditions, giving you unmatched versatility and control. Combined with the M3 compound formulation that delivers lab-certified grip performance across a range of surfaces, these tyres represent best-in-class performance for off-road RC buggies. For anyone seeking ready-to-race RC equipment in the UK, the Pro-Line Buck Shot M3 is an investment in winning.

Key Features

  • Championship-Proven Design — The Buck Shot debuted at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and immediately won races in the hands of professional Pro-Line team drivers, proving this tyre has been engineered to the highest competitive standards and will give you the edge at your local RC track.
  • Pin Configuration for Extended Durability — The pins are stacked closer together side to side compared to similar designs, which provides significantly longer lasting performance while maintaining the forward traction characteristics that make Hole Shot tyres so respected in the RC community.
  • Alternating Elongated Bars for Forward Grip — Unique to the Buck Shot, these alternating elongated bars provide incredible forward grip and acceleration, giving you the traction you need to launch hard out of corners and maintain speed through technical sections of track.
  • Directional Tread Design for Track Adaptability — The Buck Shot features different tread patterns on the outside and inside of the tyre, just like the SwitchBlade design, allowing you to mount them in the direction that suits your current track conditions without needing to purchase different tyres.
  • Pins-Out Configuration for Loose or Low-Traction Surfaces — Mount the tyre with standard pins facing outward for loose or low-traction conditions where you want the tyre to add side grip and improve steering precision, helping you maintain control when the track is slippery.
  • Blade-Out Configuration for High-Bite or Edgy Conditions — Mount the tyre with the connected side tread (Blade) facing outward to reduce side traction in high-bite or edgy conditions, preventing over-steering and maintaining stability when the track becomes grippy and technical.
  • Lab-Certified M3 Compound Formulation — The M3 compound has been extensively tested and certified to deliver maximum grip on low-bite surfaces with a compliant carcass that produces traction whilst maintaining controlled expansion, ensuring consistent performance throughout your main events.
  • Substantial Grip in Dry and Slick Conditions — The M3 compound represents a significant leap forward in terms of grip performance across both dry and slick track surfaces, staying stable throughout long main events without the fade that comes with inferior compounds.
  • Ultra Long-Lasting Performance — This is the latest and greatest ultra long-lasting compound from Pro-Line, meaning you can enjoy more track time between tyre changes and reduce your overall RC running costs without sacrificing performance or safety.
  • Temperature Versatility — Use the firmer M3 compound variant for higher temperatures and the softer variant for lower temperatures, allowing you to optimise your tyre performance regardless of seasonal conditions or climate where you're racing in the UK.
  • Closed Cell Foam Inserts Included — Each pair comes with two closed cell foam inserts designed specifically for these 1/8 scale buggy tyres, providing the proper support and preventing pinch flats during aggressive racing.

Technical Performance

The Pro-Line Buck Shot M3 represents engineered excellence in 1/8 scale RC buggy tyre design. The tyre construction combines a complaint carcass with the advanced M3 rubber compound to deliver exceptional handling characteristics across a wide range of track surfaces and conditions. The pin design, which features pins at similar dimensions to the legendary Hole Shot 2.0 but positioned closer together side to side, creates a tread pattern that maximises contact patch whilst increasing durability—a critical advantage for racers who run multiple heats and main events. The alternating elongated bars integrated into the tread design provide the forward grip needed for strong acceleration and cornering drive, whilst the directional tread allows you to optimise sidewall grip based on your specific track conditions. The M3 compound formulation has been laboratory tested to deliver maximum grip performance on low-bite surfaces whilst maintaining controlled expansion under load, ensuring your buggy remains planted through technical sections. The closed cell foam inserts work in concert with the tyre sidewalls to absorb impact and prevent pinch flats, critical when you're pushing hard on rough or rutted tracks. This tyre has been proven at national championship level and delivers the consistency and reliability that serious competitors demand from their RC equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the Pro-Line Buck Shot M3 tyres suitable for beginners to RC buggy racing? — Whilst the Buck Shot M3 is engineered for competition use and will deliver exceptional performance, these tyres are premium-grade equipment designed for racers who understand tyre management and track conditions. If you're new to RC buggy racing in the UK, you may want to start with entry-level tyres and upgrade to the Buck Shot once you've developed your skills. That said, if you're committed to competitive racing, the Buck Shot M3 is absolutely worth the investment as it will help you learn on best-in-class equipment.
  • What is the difference between the Buck Shot M3 and other Pro-Line 1/8 buggy tyres? — The Buck Shot M3 features a unique pin configuration that is stacked closer together than similar designs like the Hole Shot 2.0, providing significantly longer lasting performance. The directional tread design gives you the flexibility to mount the tyres in different directions for different track conditions—something not all Pro-Line tyres offer. The M3 compound is specifically formulated for enhanced grip and longevity compared to previous generations, making it the choice for serious competitors.
  • Can I use Buck Shot M3 tyres on the front and rear of my RC buggy? — Yes, the Pro-Line Buck Shot M3 is designed as a front/rear tyre, meaning it performs excellently in both positions on your RC buggy. This versatility means you can purchase the same tyre for all four wheels, simplifying your tyre inventory and ensuring consistent performance around your buggy.
  • How should I mount the Buck Shot M3 tyres for my track conditions? — The directional tread design allows you to choose between pins-out configuration for loose or low-traction conditions, which adds side grip and improves steering, or blade-out configuration for high-bite and edgy conditions, which reduces side traction and prevents over-steering. Experiment with both orientations during practice to find which works best for your specific track.
  • Do the closed cell foam inserts come with the tyres? — Yes, each pair of Pro-Line Buck Shot M3 tyres includes two closed cell foam inserts specifically designed for these 1/8 scale buggy tyres. These inserts are essential for preventing pinch flats and providing proper sidewall support during competitive racing.
  • What is the M3 compound and why does it matter? — The M3 is Pro-Line's advanced rubber compound formulation that has been laboratory certified for maximum grip on low-bite surfaces with controlled expansion. It represents the latest and greatest in their compound development, delivering substantial improvements in grip performance across both dry and slick conditions whilst maintaining stability throughout long main events without fade.
  • Are Buck Shot M3 tyres suitable for both competitive racing and bashing? — Whilst these tyres excel at competitive racing due to their durability and performance, they are premium-grade equipment with a price point that reflects their quality. Casual bashers may prefer more affordable tyre options. However, if you do both racing and bashing and want premium performance for both activities, the Buck Shot M3 represents excellent value due to its extended durability.
