Overview

The Pro-Line 1/10 Class 1 BFG T/A KM3 Predator F/R 1.9 inch Crawler Tyres represent a significant advancement in scale rock crawling performance. This is a pair of fully licensed Class 1 Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 1.9" tyres that bring authentic BFGoodrich off-road tyre design to your RC crawler. If you're serious about RC car performance in the UK and want tyres that deliver genuine grip and realistic scaling, these are the tyre choice that will transform your crawling experience. Pro-Line collaborated directly with BFGoodrich, the leading full-size off-road tyre manufacturer, to recreate the proven design of the new Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 specifically for the scale crawling community. This means you're getting a tyre engineered with the same philosophy as real-world extreme terrain tyres, but perfectly proportioned for your 1/10 scale rock crawler.

What sets these tyres apart from other RC crawler tyres available is the revolutionary Predator Compound rubber material. This represents the softest rock crawling rubber ever created, specifically formulated to excel on wet surfaces and ultra-low traction terrain where standard RC tyres would simply slip and spin. The Predator Compound gives you grip like you've never experienced before on a crawler, whether you're tackling muddy patches, slippery rock formations, or moisture-laden surfaces that would challenge other ready-to-run RC setups. These are the tyres for serious enthusiasts who demand maximum traction and aren't willing to compromise on performance.

Pro-Line manufactures these tyres in the USA, maintaining the same commitment to quality that BFGoodrich brings to their full-size range. At 4.19 inches tall and 1.42 inches wide, the Class 1 sizing delivers ultra-scale looks that will make your truck stand out from the rest while maintaining compatibility with Pro-Line's extensive range of 1.9" rock crawling wheels. Whether you're a weekend basher testing new terrain or a dedicated scale crawling competitor, these tyres deliver the authentic performance and appearance you need.

Key Features

  • BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 Licensed Design — These tyres are authentically licensed from BFGoodrich, the world-recognised off-road tyre specialist, ensuring that the tread pattern, construction philosophy and performance characteristics are faithful recreations of the real-world product. This means you're not just getting a tyre; you're getting genuine engineering expertise adapted for scale crawling.
  • Predator Compound Super Soft Rubber — The all-new Predator Compound is engineered to be the softest rock crawling rubber available, specifically designed to excel on wet and ultra-low traction surfaces. This superior material conforms to irregular terrain and provides grip that standard RC tyre compounds simply cannot match, giving you a genuine competitive advantage on challenging terrain.
  • 3rd Generation Mud Traction Technology — Featuring the latest Mud Traction 3rd Generation technology inherited from BFGoodrich's off-road range, these tyres deliver maximum traction when it matters most. The advancement in mud traction specifically targets loose and muddy surfaces where traditional rock crawler tyres struggle to maintain grip.
  • Deep Self-Cleaning Independent Tread Blocks — The tyre features deep, independently designed tread blocks that actively clean themselves as you crawl, preventing mud and debris from clogging the treads and maintaining consistent traction throughout your run. This self-cleaning capability means your grip doesn't degrade as you accumulate mud on the tyre surface.
  • Aggressive Tread Lugs for Maximum Bite — The prominent, aggressive tread lugs are specifically engineered to bite firmly into loose or muddy surfaces and climb over slippery rocks with authority. These aren't decorative elements; they're functional climbing tools that dig into terrain and provide the mechanical grip needed for extreme angles and loose ground.
  • Linear Transverse Flex Zones — Built into the tyre's sidewalls and tread structure, these flex zones provide maximum grip to get over obstacles by allowing the tyre to conform to uneven surfaces and rock edges. Instead of bouncing over terrain, the flex zones help the tyre wrap around obstacles and maintain contact with the ground.
  • Perfect Class 1 Proportions at 4.19" OD — At 4.19 inches in overall diameter and 1.42 inches in width, these tyres deliver ultra-scale appearance that perfectly suits modern scale crawler aesthetics. The Class 1 sizing puts them in the sweet spot for vehicles that prioritise realistic appearance without sacrificing crawling capability.
  • Compatible with Pro-Line 1.9" Wheel Range — These tyres fit Pro-Line's extensive array of 1.9" rock crawling wheels, giving you flexibility in choosing your wheel style while maintaining guaranteed tyre compatibility. Whether you prefer beadlock wheels, traditional designs or any intermediate style, you'll find Pro-Line wheels that work with these tyres.
  • Made in the USA — Just like the full-size BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tyres, Pro-Line manufactures these in the USA, ensuring consistent quality control, ethical manufacturing standards and the kind of attention to detail you expect from a company with such a strong reputation in the RC and full-size off-road communities.

Technical Performance

These 1/10 scale Class 1 rock crawler tyres represent the pinnacle of engineering for serious scale crawling applications. The construction combines a super-soft Predator Compound rubber material with the proven Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tread pattern, creating a tyre that performs across an exceptional range of surface conditions. The tread design is based on the BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX symmetric pattern, which has been refined and adapted for the KM3 generation with improvements to traction and self-cleaning capability. The 4.19 inch outer diameter and 1.42 inch width measurements ensure that the tyres are properly proportioned for modern 1/10 scale crawlers, with a scale appearance that matches contemporary chassis designs. The deep tread blocks work in conjunction with the flex zones to provide multiple mechanisms for grip: the mechanical bite of the lugs into loose material, the conforming capability of the soft compound to rock surfaces, and the flex zones' ability to maintain contact over obstacles. The self-cleaning independent tread blocks mean that these tyres actually perform better as the run progresses, as dried mud and loose debris are shed during crawling rather than accumulating and reducing traction. This makes them particularly effective for long sessions on muddy terrain where other tyres would progressively degrade in performance. The Predator Compound, being significantly softer than standard rock crawler rubber compounds, trades some durability for dramatically improved traction, making these the ideal choice for traction-critical applications where grip is more important than tyre longevity. The tyres come in a pair and are suitable for both front and rear positions on your crawler.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these tyres suitable for beginners to RC crawling? — Yes, these tyres are suitable for anyone looking to improve their RC crawler's performance, regardless of experience level. However, they're particularly valued by experienced crawlers who understand the importance of tyre compound selection. Beginners will immediately notice the superior grip, though they work best when paired with proper crawling technique and terrain familiarity.
  • What makes the Predator Compound different from standard RC crawler tyres? — The Predator Compound is engineered to be the softest rock crawling rubber currently available. This means it conforms more readily to irregular surfaces, providing superior grip on wet terrain and ultra-low traction surfaces where standard compounds would slip. The trade-off is that the softer compound wears faster, but the traction advantage is significant for serious crawling applications.
  • Can I use these tyres on both front and rear of my crawler? — Yes, these are full front and rear (F/R) tyres, meaning they're designed to work in either position on your 1/10 scale crawler. This flexibility simplifies your spare tyre logistics and ensures consistent handling characteristics across your vehicle.
  • Which Pro-Line wheels are these compatible with? — These tyres fit Pro-Line's wide array of 1.9" rock crawling wheels. Because they're designed for the 1.9" size, you'll need 1.9" diameter wheels to mount them. Pro-Line offers numerous 1.9" wheel designs in different styles, so you have flexibility in your aesthetic choices.
  • How do the self-cleaning tread blocks help my crawling performance? — The independent tread blocks are designed to shed mud and debris as you crawl rather than allowing them to accumulate on the tyre surface. Standard tyres often become clogged with mud, creating a smooth surface that reduces traction as your run progresses. These self-cleaning blocks maintain consistent traction throughout your session, meaning your grip doesn't degrade as you accumulate mud.
  • What is Class 1 sizing and why does it matter? — Class 1 refers to the scale proportion system for RC crawler tyres. The 4.19" outer diameter of these Class 1 tyres is specifically proportioned to suit modern 1/10 scale crawler chassis designs, delivering authentic scale appearance without sacrificing functionality. Class 1 sizing has become the standard in competitive scale crawling.
  • Are these tyres waterproof and suitable for wet terrain? — The Predator Compound rubber is specifically engineered to excel on wet and ultra-low traction surfaces, making these an excellent choice for wet conditions. However, rubber is fundamentally water-resistant rather than waterproof. What matters for these tyres is that they maintain their grip advantage in wet conditions where other compounds would slip.
  • How do these compare to other BFGoodrich-licensed Pro-Line crawler tyres? — The KM3 represents the latest generation of BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain technology, bringing newer engineering advances compared to earlier models like the Krawler KX. Additionally, the Predator Compound used on these KM3 tyres is softer and more grip-focused than compounds used on other Pro-Line crawler tyres, making these specifically suited for traction-critical applications where maximum grip is the priority.
