Technical Performance
The AMR-12 represents the pinnacle of 1/12th on-road body design, engineered with aerodynamic precision that's been validated by world champions. The contemporary LMP styling isn't just for looks – every curve and surface has been optimised for airflow, downforce and overall track performance. The crystal clear polycarbonate construction offers the perfect balance between durability and weight, critical factors in competitive racing where every gram matters. The slightly enlarged cockpit provides better proportions than earlier designs whilst maintaining the aerodynamic efficiency that's made this body a consistent winner. The design is forward-compatible with modern brushless motor systems, accommodating larger motors and their associated wiring harnesses – a consideration that wasn't always built into older body designs. At 12.8 inches in length with a wheelbase of 7.8 inches, the AMR-12 delivers the right proportions for nimble handling on tight, technical race tracks. The front and rear width of 6.8 inches at the widest points ensures proper stance and tyre clearance. The roof height of 2.2 inches and spoiler height of 2.6 inches create the aggressive, low-slung profile that characterises modern on-road racing machines. This is a body designed for serious racers who understand that small aerodynamic advantages compound into measurable improvements in lap times and competitive performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the AMR-12 and other 1/12th on-road bodies available? — The AMR-12 carries four consecutive IFMAR World Championship victories, making it one of the most proven and validated 1/12th bodies ever designed. Its championship pedigree, contemporary LMP styling, enlarged cockpit and brushless motor compatibility make it stand apart from competitors. The paint-then-peel overspray film and included window masks also simplify the finishing process compared to many other bodies.
- Will this body fit my 1/12th on-road chassis? — Yes. The AMR-12 is engineered to fit all popular 1/12th on-road chassis platforms and meets all EFRA, BRCA and ROAR body rule requirements, so compatibility with virtually any competitive 1/12th platform is guaranteed.
- Is this body suitable for beginners to 1/12th racing? — The AMR-12 is appropriate for anyone building a 1/12th on-road car, from complete beginners to world-class competitors. However, this is an unpainted clear body, so you'll need to paint it yourself or have it painted professionally. If you're new to RC body finishing, you may want to practice painting techniques on a spare body first, though the included paint-then-peel overspray film makes the process straightforward.
- Do I need to paint this body? — Yes, this body is sold as a clear, unpainted shell. You'll need to paint it with acrylic or polycarbonate-specific RC body paint to protect the polycarbonate and create your desired colour scheme. The clear body also allows light to pass through, so some builders choose to paint just the windows and leave certain areas unpainted for a custom look.
- What paint should I use on this polycarbonate body? — Use only acrylic or polycarbonate-specific RC body paint designed for 1/12th scale bodies. Avoid standard automotive paints or lacquers that can damage polycarbonate. Apply paint from the inside of the body for best results and protection.
- What is included with the body? — Each body comes with the clear AMR-12 polycarbonate shell, a complete decal sheet with pre-designed headlights, and pre-cut window masks to simplify painting.
- Is the body alone enough to race? — No, you'll also need a 1/12th on-road chassis, steering servo, receiver, transmitter, battery, speed controller and motor. This body is the shell only – all mechanical components must be sourced separately.
- How do I assemble this body on my chassis? — Follow these four simple steps: (1) Clean the body and apply the included window masks, (2) Paint the body and peel off the paint-then-peel overspray film, (3) Apply the included decal sheet to personalise your body, (4) Mount the finished body onto your chassis using appropriate body posts and hardware compatible with your specific 1/12th platform.
