Overview

The TLR Tranny to Chassis Brace in aluminium is a precision-engineered component designed specifically for Team Losi Racing's 22 5.0 platform. This essential chassis part is engineered to reinforce the critical connection between the transmission and chassis, providing structural support that enhances overall vehicle rigidity and handling characteristics. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 scale RC car at your local track or pushing your setup to the limit at national events, this aluminium brace delivers the durability and performance reliability that serious RC enthusiasts demand from their components.

Built with quality craftsmanship by Team Losi Racing, an organisation renowned for producing competition-grade RC vehicles and parts, this transmission-to-chassis brace represents the kind of detailed engineering that separates winning setups from casual builds. The aluminium construction offers the ideal balance of lightweight efficiency and structural integrity, making it an excellent upgrade or replacement part for TLR 22 5.0 owners who want to maximise their vehicle's potential. For RC car UK enthusiasts seeking to improve their buggy's chassis rigidity and transmission mounting stability, this component is a practical choice that will serve you well whether you're a weekend basher or a dedicated racer.

The laydown configuration of this brace is specifically designed to fit the TLR 22 5.0's transmission layout, ensuring perfect compatibility and optimal performance. This is the kind of OEM-quality part that serious RC modellers choose when building or maintaining their vehicles, offering the assurance that comes from using manufacturer-approved components engineered to exacting standards.

Key Features

  • Aluminium Construction — This brace is manufactured from aluminium, which provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and superior rigidity compared to plastic alternatives, meaning your transmission mounting point will remain stable under high-stress cornering and acceleration.
  • Laydown Configuration — The specific laydown design matches the TLR 22 5.0's transmission geometry perfectly, ensuring precise fitment without modification and maintaining the vehicle's intended handling characteristics.
  • OEM Quality Engineering — As a Team Losi Racing genuine part, this brace is engineered to the same standards as the vehicle itself, guaranteeing compatibility and durability that aftermarket alternatives may not provide.
  • Transmission Stabilisation — By bracing the transmission to the chassis, this component reduces flex and movement during acceleration and cornering, which improves power delivery consistency and handling precision.
  • Maintenance and Upgrade Flexibility — Whether you're replacing a damaged original brace or upgrading from plastic to aluminium, this part gives you the option to enhance your setup's durability without changing your vehicle's core geometry.

Technical Performance

The TLR Tranny to Chassis Brace represents Team Losi Racing's commitment to precision engineering in chassis components. Constructed from quality aluminium, this brace is engineered to provide rigid support for the transmission mounting point, a critical area that experiences significant stress during competitive driving. The aluminium material choice is deliberate—it offers superior durability and dimensional stability compared to plastic components, whilst remaining lightweight enough not to compromise the vehicle's overall balance. The laydown configuration is specifically designed for the TLR 22 5.0 platform, indicating this is not a universal part but rather a precisely-fitted component engineered for that particular vehicle's transmission layout and mounting points. This level of precision in component design is characteristic of Team Losi Racing's approach to building competition-grade RC vehicles. The brace's role in maintaining consistent transmission alignment is crucial for reliable power delivery and predictable handling, factors that matter whether you're setting up a brushless RC buggy for speed or preparing for track competition. The aluminium construction will resist flexing under load, maintaining the geometric integrity of your transmission mounting even during aggressive driving. For RC enthusiasts in the UK and beyond who demand performance-oriented components, this brace is a straightforward upgrade that addresses a fundamental aspect of vehicle structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the TLR Tranny to Chassis Brace suitable for my RC buggy? — This brace is specifically engineered for the Team Losi Racing TLR 22 5.0 platform. Before purchasing, confirm your vehicle is a TLR 22 5.0 model, as this is a platform-specific component and will not fit other RC cars or different TLR models without modification.
  • What is the difference between aluminium and plastic transmission braces? — Aluminium braces offer superior rigidity and durability compared to plastic alternatives. They resist flexing under acceleration and cornering loads, maintain dimensional stability over time and repeated stress cycles, and provide better long-term reliability. The trade-off is slightly increased cost, but the performance and longevity benefits make aluminium the preferred choice for serious RC enthusiasts.
  • Will this brace improve my RC car's handling? — By providing rigid support for the transmission mounting point, this brace reduces chassis flex and transmission movement during acceleration and turning. This translates to more consistent power delivery, more predictable handling characteristics, and improved overall vehicle responsiveness—benefits that are particularly noticeable during competitive driving or aggressive track sessions.
  • Do I need any special tools to install this brace? — Installation will require standard RC car maintenance tools, though specific requirements depend on your TLR 22 5.0's current configuration. Consult your vehicle's instruction manual or contact RC Model Shop for detailed installation guidance if you're unfamiliar with transmission brace installation procedures.
  • Is this a genuine Team Losi Racing part? — Yes, this is an official Team Losi Racing component (part number TLR331063), manufactured to OEM specifications and offering the quality assurance that comes with genuine manufacturer parts rather than aftermarket alternatives.
