Key Features
- Premium Black Aluminium Motor Can — The beautifully etched black aluminium construction delivers a professional, high-end appearance whilst providing essential structural rigidity and durability for demanding RC use.
- 4 Pole Internal Configuration — The 4 pole motor design ensures exceptionally smooth and consistent power delivery across the entire RPM range, eliminating the stuttering and inconsistencies common in lower pole count motors, which translates to more predictable handling and faster lap times.
- Enhanced Heat Dissipation — The finned body section of the aluminium motor can actively dissipates heat generated during high-performance running, preventing thermal throttling and allowing longer, more consistent performance sessions without the motor losing power.
- Gold Bullet Connectors — The use of premium gold-plated 4.0mm bullet connectors ensures fast, reliable electrical connections with minimal resistance, whilst the design allows for quick and easy wire removal when you need to perform maintenance or clean your vehicle.
- Optimised for BLX120 ESC — This motor is specifically balanced and tuned to work in perfect harmony with the ARRMA BLX120 Brushless ESC, guaranteeing compatibility and delivering the performance envelope these components were designed for together.
- Sensorless Brushless Technology — The sensorless design simplifies installation and reduces overall system complexity, whilst modern brushless algorithms deliver responsive throttle control and smooth acceleration characteristics.
- Precision Engineering — Every dimension, from the 36mm diameter to the 68mm length and 5mm bore, is engineered to exact specifications, ensuring perfect fitment in compatible RC vehicles and reliable operation in demanding conditions.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA BLX3668 2400Kv brushless motor represents a pinnacle of RC motor engineering, combining premium materials, precision manufacturing and proven brushless technology. The motor's 2400Kv rating indicates it will turn approximately 2400 revolutions per minute per volt applied, which when paired with a 4S LiPo battery (nominally 14.8 volts) will generate significant RPM and consequently impressive speed characteristics. The 4 pole internal configuration is critical to understanding this motor's exceptional performance profile; compared to cheaper 2 pole alternatives, the 4 pole design delivers noticeably smoother commutation, less vibration and more consistent torque delivery throughout the acceleration range. The finned aluminium motor can ensures heat generated during sustained high-throttle driving is rapidly dissipated, maintaining optimal operating temperature and preventing the performance degradation that occurs in under-cooled motors. Weighing 228 grams, this is a properly engineered motor built to withstand the demands of serious RC driving, whether that's competitive racing, weekend bashing or technical off-road driving. The 5mm bore shaft with precisely machined 18.5mm length ensures perfect fitment in pinion gears and motor mounts, whilst the M3 mounting holes guarantee secure installation in any compatible vehicle. The 45mm motor cable with premium gold 4.0mm bullet connectors minimises voltage drop and electrical resistance, meaning more of your battery's energy gets converted to motor output rather than being wasted as heat in poor connections. This is the kind of attention to detail that separates genuinely quality brushless RC motors from inferior alternatives, and it's why the BLX3668 is trusted by serious RC enthusiasts across the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What battery does the ARRMA BLX3668 2400Kv motor need? — This is a 4S brushless motor, meaning it is designed to run on 4S LiPo batteries which provide a nominal voltage of 14.8 volts. Running on lower voltage batteries (such as 3S) will result in reduced performance and RPM, whilst attempting to run on higher voltages risks damaging the motor and ESC. Always use a compatible 4S LiPo battery to achieve the performance this motor was engineered to deliver.
- Is this motor suitable for beginners? — The BLX3668 is best suited to intermediate and experienced RC enthusiasts rather than absolute beginners. Brushless motors require a compatible brushless ESC to operate, and they deliver significantly more power and speed than brushed alternatives, which demands good driving skills and experience with RC vehicles. If you're new to RC, starting with a beginner-friendly RTR (Ready to Run) kit with a brushed motor might be more appropriate, then progressing to brushless performance as your skills develop.
- What is a 4 pole motor and why does it matter? — The pole count refers to the number of permanent magnets inside the motor. A 4 pole motor has four magnets, whilst cheaper alternatives typically have 2 poles. The 4 pole design delivers significantly smoother power delivery, reduced vibration, better throttle response and more consistent torque across the RPM range. For serious RC driving where every millisecond of response matters, the 4 pole configuration is absolutely worth the investment over 2 pole alternatives.
- Which ESC should I use with the BLX3668? — ARRMA specifically engineered this motor to work in perfect harmony with the BLX120 Brushless ESC (model AR390264). The two components are matched for optimal performance, thermal characteristics and throttle response. You may find other compatible ESCs, but the BLX120 is the recommended choice and guarantees you'll achieve the performance envelope ARRMA designed these components for.
- How does the 2400Kv rating affect performance? — The Kv rating (kilovolt constant) indicates how many RPM the motor produces per volt applied. At 2400Kv with a 4S LiPo battery, you're looking at very high RPM and consequently high speed capabilities. The 2400Kv rating represents an excellent middle ground for RC cars, delivering thrilling speed whilst maintaining adequate torque for acceleration and climbing. Lower Kv motors deliver more torque but less top speed, whilst higher Kv motors deliver less torque but more speed; 2400Kv is the sweet spot for balanced, exciting performance.
- Why is the aluminium motor can important? — The motor can (the outer cylindrical housing) being constructed from aluminium rather than plastic is significant because aluminium conducts heat away from the motor much more efficiently. During hard driving, brushless motors generate considerable heat. An aluminium can with finned design dissipates this heat rapidly, keeping the motor cooler and preventing thermal throttling, where the motor loses power as internal temperatures climb. This means longer, more consistent performance during extended driving sessions.
- Can I use this motor with any 4S RC car? — The BLX3668 is a component motor designed for installation in compatible RC vehicles. It's not a complete system; you need a suitable RC car chassis with motor mounting hardware designed for this motor size. Before purchasing, verify that your specific RC vehicle model is compatible with motors using a 5mm bore and M3 mounting holes. If you're unsure, contact our team at RC Model Shop and we'll help you verify compatibility.
- What maintenance does a brushless motor require? — Brushless motors are remarkably low-maintenance compared to brushed alternatives. They have no brushes to wear out or replace. Simply keep the motor clean and dry, check that the shaft spins freely, and inspect the connectors periodically for corrosion or damage. After driving in wet or muddy conditions, you may wish to gently rinse the motor housing and allow it to dry completely before storage. The ball bearings inside require no servicing; just keep them clean and dry.
