This ARRMA shock assembly is engineered to work seamlessly with a range of ARRMA models including the 1/7 FIRETEAM 6S, 1/8 KRATON 6S, and other ARRMA platforms. The set includes everything you need for fast shock replacement, including a pair of fully assembled shock absorbers, multiple tuning pistons to dial in your suspension exactly how you want it, and premium silicone shock oil already filled to the correct viscosity. If you're upgrading a ready to run RC truck, replacing worn shocks on a competition buggy, or building a custom RC vehicle setup, this shock set provides the precision engineering that ARRMA is renowned for.
What makes this shock set stand out is the attention to detail in both construction and included components. You're not just buying two shock bodies; you're getting a complete tuning system with spare pistons in different hole sizes, allowing you to fine-tune your vehicle's suspension response for different track conditions, weather, or driving styles. The inclusion of sway bar pivot balls and shock boots demonstrates ARRMA's commitment to providing everything needed for a complete suspension service without additional shopping.
Key Features
- High-Quality Anodised Aluminium Construction — The shock bodies, caps, seal caps and preload adjusters are manufactured from anodised aluminium, providing excellent durability, corrosion resistance and a professional appearance. Anodising creates a hard oxide layer that protects against wear and weathering, meaning your shocks will maintain their performance and look great over extended use.
- Stainless Steel Shock Shafts — The 4mm stainless steel shock shafts are engineered for long-lasting durability and resistance to rust and corrosion. This is particularly important for UK RC users where damp conditions are common, as stainless steel will not deteriorate even when exposed to moisture or driven in wet weather.
- Composite Shock Rod Ends and Spring Retainers — The tough composite construction of the rod ends and spring retainers provides strength whilst maintaining precise fit tolerances. These components experience significant stress during operation, and the composite material used here is specifically engineered to withstand the demands of both racing and recreational RC driving.
- Pre-Assembled and Ready to Install — Unlike shock sets that require assembly, these come completely assembled with 1000cSt silicone shock oil already filled to the correct level. This means minimal setup time; simply choose your desired spring, install the tuning piston of your choice, and bolt the shocks to your vehicle. This is a massive time-saver for busy RC enthusiasts.
- 1000cSt Premium Silicone Shock Oil — The shocks are pre-filled with high-quality silicone shock oil at 1000 centistokes viscosity, which provides the optimal balance of damping feel and response across a range of driving conditions. This specific viscosity rating means the shocks will perform consistently whether you're racing on a hard-packed track or bashing through rough terrain.
- Multiple Tuning Pistons Included — The set includes four blank tuning pistons, plus pre-drilled 8x1.2mm and 8x1.4mm hole pistons, allowing you to adjust the suspension damping characteristics to match your driving style and track conditions. Having multiple piston options means you can experiment and fine-tune performance without purchasing additional components.
- Shock Boots for Shaft Protection — Protective shock boots are included to shield the shock shafts from dirt, debris and UV damage. These boots keep your shocks cleaner and help extend their service life, particularly important for UK users who may drive in muddy or sandy conditions.
- Sway Bar Pivot Balls Included — Four additional sway bar pivot balls are provided, giving you spare components for maintenance or allowing you to upgrade additional vehicles in your RC collection.
- 134mm Centre-to-Centre Length — The 134mm length is specifically engineered to fit ARRMA models with this dimension requirement, ensuring perfect geometry and suspension geometry maintenance when installing on compatible vehicles.
- 16mm Internal Bore Diameter — The 16mm bore size is standard for this class of ARRMA vehicles and has been precisely engineered to deliver the right balance of damping force and responsiveness for off-road RC performance.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Set represents a significant investment in suspension technology specifically tuned for high-performance RC vehicles. The 16mm bore diameter combined with 4mm stainless steel shafts creates a robust shock assembly capable of handling the demands of both racing-focused RC buggies and speed-oriented brushless RC trucks. The 1000cSt silicone shock oil provides consistent damping across temperature ranges typically encountered in UK weather conditions, from cool spring drives to hot summer bashing sessions. The anodised aluminium bodies ensure minimal friction losses whilst resisting corrosion that could develop in damp British climates. The inclusion of multiple tuning pistons with different hole sizes (blank, 8x1.2mm, and 8x1.4mm) allows fine-tuning of suspension response; smaller holes create more damping resistance for smoother handling on rough tracks, whilst larger holes reduce damping for snappier response on smooth surfaces. The composite shock rod ends provide excellent durability whilst maintaining precision tolerances essential for consistent handling. The spring retainers are engineered to firmly secure your choice of springs without slippage during aggressive driving, critical for vehicles like the 1/8 KRATON 6S EXB which demand reliable suspension geometry maintenance during high-speed operation. The supplied shock boots protect sensitive internal components and shafts from UV degradation and contamination, extending the lifespan of your investment in quality suspension components.

- What do the different tuning pistons do? — The tuning pistons control damping by restricting shock oil flow through holes of different sizes. Blank pistons offer maximum damping resistance, the 8x1.2mm pistons provide moderate damping, and the 8x1.4mm pistons offer lighter damping with quicker shock response. Experimenting with different piston sizes allows you to dial in the perfect suspension feel for your preferred driving style and track conditions.
- Do I need to fill these shocks with oil? — No, these shocks come pre-assembled and pre-filled with 1000cSt silicone shock oil ready to use. Simply select your preferred tuning piston, install it, add your springs, and bolt the shocks to your vehicle.
- What does 1000cSt oil mean? — cSt stands for centistokes, a measurement of oil viscosity or thickness. 1000cSt is a medium viscosity that provides good all-round damping performance for RC shock applications. Thicker oils provide more damping resistance; thinner oils allow faster shock response. 1000cSt is the viscosity specified by ARRMA for these shocks and will deliver optimal performance on compatible vehicles.
