Overview
Transform your RC driving experience with the ARRMA Rear Brake Module Set Including Servo Z-ARA311114, a purpose-built upgrade that unlocks a completely new dimension of performance and control for your RC car. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast in the UK or exploring the exciting world of RC hobbies, this rear brake module represents a significant step up in vehicle capability. When integrated with a three-channel radio system, this mechanical brake system adds genuine stopping power and control to your rear wheels, enabling advanced driving techniques that simply aren't possible with standard braking alone.
This isn't just a simple spare part — it's a complete upgrade kit that opens the door to professional-level driving dynamics. If you've ever wanted to perform authentic handbrake turns or initiate controlled drifting action with your RC vehicle, this module is precisely what you need. The set comes completely assembled and ready to install, meaning you won't waste time with complex assembly procedures. For UK RC car enthusiasts looking to enhance their vehicles with precision braking control, the ARRMA Rear Brake Module represents exceptional value and genuine capability.
The engineering behind this system is impressive for the price point. Constructed from strong steel and tough composite materials, the module is built to withstand the demands of aggressive driving whilst remaining lightweight enough not to compromise vehicle performance. This is the kind of upgrade that separates casual RC driving from more serious, controlled performance — and it's accessible to anyone with a compatible three-channel radio system.
Key Features
- Mechanical Rear Brake System — This module adds a genuine mechanical brake to the rear wheels of your vehicle, which is fundamentally different from standard electronic braking. This allows you to perform handbrake turns and initiate drifting action in a way that front-only braking simply cannot achieve, opening up completely new driving techniques and styles.
- Pre-Assembled for Quick Installation — The entire rear brake module arrives fully assembled, which means you can have it mounted on your vehicle within minutes rather than spending hours with assembly instructions and tools. This is perfect for UK RC enthusiasts who want to upgrade their cars quickly and get straight back to driving.
- Spektrum S650 Servo Pre-Installed — Rather than forcing you to source a compatible servo separately, this kit includes a Spektrum S650 servo that's already installed and ready to function immediately upon mounting. This servo is specifically chosen for compatibility and reliability with this braking system.
- Durable Steel and Composite Construction — The module is manufactured from strong steel combined with tough composite materials, ensuring that it can withstand the stresses of handbrake turns and aggressive driving whilst remaining reliable over extended periods of use. This hybrid construction balances durability with weight considerations.
- Multiple Servo Horn Options — Three different servo horns are supplied (23T, 24T, and 25T), with the 23T pre-installed. This flexibility means you can adjust the braking modulation and response curve to suit different driving styles and vehicle configurations, or swap horns if you upgrade to a different servo in the future.
- Complete Installation Package — Everything needed for installation is included: mounting screws, a 150mm servo lead extension wire for flexible positioning, and comprehensive assembly instructions. Nothing else needs to be purchased to get this system operational on your vehicle.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Rear Brake Module represents solid engineering focused on reliability and performance. The use of steel combined with composite materials creates a structure that's both strong enough to handle repeated braking loads whilst remaining light enough to avoid excessive weight penalty to your vehicle's handling and acceleration characteristics. The Spektrum S650 servo included with the system provides adequate torque and speed for smooth brake modulation, allowing drivers to fine-tune brake application with precision. The three servo horn options (23T, 24T, and 25T) provide flexibility in adjusting the brake lever's mechanical advantage, allowing you to customise brake response to match your driving style — whether you prefer sharp, responsive braking for aggressive drifting or more gradual brake application for smooth control. The 150mm servo lead extension wire provides sufficient reach to position the servo optimally within your vehicle's layout. This system requires a three-channel radio system such as the Spektrum SLT3 Transmitter and SR315 Dual-Protocol Receiver to function; the third channel beyond steering and throttle operates the brake servo. The assembly arrives ready to mount, with all internal components pre-configured, eliminating assembly errors and ensuring consistent performance from the moment of installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What exactly is a rear brake module and why would I need one for my RC car? — A rear brake module adds a dedicated mechanical brake system to your vehicle's rear wheels, controlled by a servo and radio channel. Unlike standard electronic braking which affects all wheels equally, a rear-only brake system enables handbrake turns and drifting by allowing you to lock up the rear wheels whilst maintaining steering control. This is an essential upgrade for anyone interested in drift driving or advanced RC techniques.
- Do I need a special radio system to use this brake module? — Yes, you'll need a three-channel radio system to operate this module. This means your transmitter must have at least three channels: one for steering, one for throttle/speed control, and one dedicated to the brake servo. Popular compatible systems include the Spektrum SLT3 Transmitter paired with the SR315 Dual-Protocol Receiver, though any three-channel system will work. Standard two-channel RC cars cannot use this module without a radio system upgrade.
- Is the servo included in this kit compatible with other brake modules? — The Spektrum S650 servo included in this kit is a standard-size digital servo, so it's compatible with other brake systems that accept standard servos. However, this particular module is designed as a complete system, and the servo is pre-installed and calibrated for optimal performance with this specific brake linkage and mechanical design.
- Why are three different servo horns included? — The three servo horns (23T, 24T, and 25T) allow you to adjust the mechanical advantage of the brake system. A larger horn (like the 25T) gives you lighter, more progressive braking feel, whilst a smaller horn (like the 23T) provides more aggressive, immediate braking response. You can experiment with different horns to find the brake feel that suits your driving style, or swap them if you upgrade your servo in the future.
- Will this module fit all ARRMA vehicles? — This is a rear brake module designed to integrate with ARRMA vehicles' rear transmission systems. Compatibility depends on your specific ARRMA model. Check your vehicle's manual or contact RC Model Shop to confirm fitment with your particular model before ordering.
- How difficult is installation? — The module arrives fully assembled, so installation is primarily a matter of mounting it to your vehicle's chassis using the supplied mounting screws and connecting the servo cable to your receiver's third channel. The included instructions provide step-by-step guidance. Most RC enthusiasts can complete installation in 15-30 minutes without special tools.
- Can I use this brake module with my existing servo? — This kit includes the Spektrum S650 servo pre-installed, and the compatible servo horns are sized for standard servos. If you wanted to use a different servo, it would need to be a standard-size servo, and you'd need to verify that the horn spline matches your servo's specifications.
