Overview
The ARRMA CVD Axle, 12x58mm (2) Z-ARA310932 is an essential replacement drivetrain component designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance from their vehicles. Whether you're a seasoned RC car racer or a dedicated weekend basher, having quality spare parts on hand ensures your RC model stays on the track or terrain rather than sitting idle waiting for repairs. These CVD axles are precision-engineered replacements that maintain the exacting standards ARRMA is known for across their entire range of high-performance RC vehicles.
CVD axles are critical drivetrain components that transmit power from the motor to the wheels whilst accommodating suspension movement and articulation. The 12x58mm specification represents the diameter and length of these axles, making them compatible with specific ARRMA models. When your existing axles show signs of wear, damage, or have simply reached the end of their service life through intense RC driving, these genuine replacement parts restore your vehicle to factory performance standards. Many RC enthusiasts in the UK appreciate having spare drivetrain components available, especially if they enjoy competitive racing or regular bashing sessions where wear and tear is inevitable.
Quality axles are fundamental to maintaining smooth, consistent performance across all terrains. A worn or damaged axle can introduce play into the drivetrain, reduce efficiency, and eventually lead to more serious mechanical failures. By replacing them with genuine ARRMA CVD Axles, you're investing in reliability and longevity for your RC model, whether you're tackling off-road tracks, street courses, or casual backyard driving.
Key Features
- Tough steel construction — These CVD axles are manufactured from tough steel that provides hard-wearing durability and reliable performance across all terrains. Steel's inherent strength ensures the axles can withstand the stresses of aggressive driving, high-speed runs, and challenging off-road conditions without flexing or failing.
- Precision manufactured — Each axle is precision engineered to tight tolerances, which guarantees smooth and friction-free operation in all conditions. This manufacturing precision means the axles rotate smoothly without binding, reducing energy loss and ensuring efficient power delivery to your wheels.
- Direct replacement specification — The 12x58mm dimensions are specifically designed as drop-in replacements for compatible ARRMA models, ensuring perfect fit and maintaining the exact geometry your vehicle was engineered for.
- Drivetrain reliability — As core drivetrain components, these axles are essential to maintaining consistent performance and preventing costly secondary damage that can occur when worn axles introduce play and inefficiency into the drive system.
- Pair included — This set includes two CVD axles, allowing you to replace both sides of your vehicle simultaneously or keep a spare set ready for when the primary axles eventually wear out.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA CVD Axle, 12x58mm represents a fundamental drivetrain component that operates under significant stress during RC vehicle operation. The 12mm diameter and 58mm length specification ensures compatibility with ARRMA vehicles engineered for this component size, particularly models like the Outcast 4X4 8S BLX. Steel construction provides the material strength necessary to handle the torque and rotational forces generated by brushless motors commonly used in modern RC vehicles. The precision manufacturing process ensures concentricity and straightness across the entire length of the axle, which is critical for eliminating vibration and wobble that would otherwise reduce efficiency and introduce premature wear to connected components such as bearings and gears. When installed correctly in a vehicle equipped with an 8S brushless system like many ARRMA models, these axles will deliver smooth, reliable power transmission without slippage or deflection. The friction-free operation these precision-manufactured components provide means more of your motor's power reaches the wheels rather than being wasted as heat or vibration.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a CVD axle and why does my RC vehicle need one? — CVD stands for Constant Velocity Differential. An axle is the shaft that transmits rotational power from your motor and gearbox to the wheels, allowing your vehicle to move. As you drive your RC car over bumpy terrain or through high-speed cornering, the suspension compresses and extends, which would normally cause binding or inefficiency in a solid axle. CVD axles use internal joints that allow smooth power transmission even when the axle bends at an angle, maintaining consistent torque delivery regardless of suspension position. Over time, through normal use, these components wear out and need replacement to maintain optimal performance.
- Are these genuine ARRMA parts? — Yes, the Z-ARA310932 is the genuine ARRMA part number for CVD Axles measuring 12x58mm. Genuine OEM parts are manufactured to the exact specifications your vehicle was engineered for, ensuring perfect fit and performance characteristics. Using genuine spare parts also maintains the structural integrity and handling characteristics of your RC model.
- Which ARRMA vehicles are these compatible with? — These CVD axles are confirmed compatible with the ARRMA Outcast 4X4 8S BLX (model C-ARA5810V2T1). However, other ARRMA models using the 12x58mm axle specification may also accept these parts. We recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop to confirm compatibility with your specific model.
- How often do I need to replace my CVD axles? — The lifespan of CVD axles depends heavily on driving intensity, terrain, maintenance, and overall vehicle care. Casual weekend drivers might enjoy thousands of running hours before replacement becomes necessary, whilst competitive racers or aggressive bashers may need replacements more frequently. Signs that replacement is needed include clicking or popping sounds during operation, visible bending or damage, loss of smooth power delivery, or excessive play when you try to rotate the axle by hand.
- Can I install these myself? — Axle replacement is generally a task suitable for RC enthusiasts with basic mechanical knowledge and appropriate tools. However, the process varies depending on your specific ARRMA vehicle model and may require removing suspension components and other drivetrain elements. If you're uncertain about the installation process, our experienced team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance or recommend professional installation services.
- Why should I choose genuine ARRMA parts over aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine ARRMA parts are engineered and tested specifically for your vehicle, ensuring perfect fit, optimal performance, and long-term reliability. Aftermarket alternatives may offer cost savings but could introduce compatibility issues, performance inconsistencies, or premature failure. Investing in genuine OEM parts protects your vehicle investment and ensures consistent driving experiences.
