Overview
The Castle Creations CC BEC 2.0 - 14A Voltage Regulator is a professional-grade power management solution designed specifically for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand reliable, clean power delivery to their sensitive radio systems. This voltage regulator builds on Castle Creations' proven BEC lineage, which has established a reputation for dependability across hundreds of thousands of RC installations worldwide. Whether you're running a high-performance RC car UK setup, a competitive racing platform, or a weekend basher, this unit ensures your receiver, servos and onboard accessories receive stable, regulated power even under demanding conditions.
The CC BEC 2.0 represents the next generation of voltage regulation technology for RC models, engineered to support modern high-power digital servos and sophisticated electronic accessories that simply weren't available when earlier BEC designs were developed. With a maximum input rating of 50V, this regulator can handle the demands of multi-cell LiPo battery systems commonly used in contemporary RC cars and trucks throughout the UK hobbyist community. Its 14A peak current capability makes it ideally suited to power hungry servo banks, onboard cameras and telemetry systems that would overwhelm lesser regulation solutions.
Built with the understanding that RC enthusiasts demand both reliability and flexibility, the CC BEC 2.0 offers adjustable output voltage to match whatever specification your particular setup requires, without requiring multiple specialist regulators. This is the voltage regulator that serious RC modellers choose when they want to protect expensive electronics and ensure their RC hobby investment performs consistently, race after race or run after run.
Key Features
- Adjustable Output Voltage (4.75V to 12V) — Using the optional Castle Link programming accessory (sold separately), you can precisely dial in the output voltage between 4.75 and 12 volts to match your specific radio system requirements, eliminating the need for multiple fixed-voltage regulators and ensuring perfect compatibility with any receiver or servo configuration.
- Peak Current Rating of 14A — This generous current capacity means the CC BEC 2.0 can reliably power even the most demanding digital servo arrays, onboard camera systems, and accessory packages without voltage sag or performance degradation, giving you confidence that power delivery remains clean and stable under full load.
- Heavy-Duty Dual Output Wires — The inclusion of robust dual output leads ensures multiple connection points for receivers and peripherals, distributing power cleanly and reducing the risk of voltage drops caused by poor connections or inadequate wiring gauges, which is critical for maintaining radio link integrity during competitive racing or high-stress bashing sessions.
- 50V Maximum Input Rating — This specification means the regulator can safely handle modern multi-cell LiPo battery systems, protecting against accidental overvoltage scenarios and allowing you to scale your RC setup without worrying about exceeding safe operating parameters for your power management electronics.
- Proven Castle Creations Heritage — With hundreds of thousands of units operating in the field across the global RC community, the CC BEC 2.0 benefits from years of refinement and real-world testing, giving you the confidence that you're investing in a design with proven track record rather than experimental technology.
- Support for Modern High-Power Accessories — Unlike older BEC designs, the CC BEC 2.0 is specifically engineered to power today's sophisticated digital servos, HD cameras, telemetry systems and other high-current draw accessories that represent the current state of RC technology, ensuring your regulator won't become obsolete as your hobby evolves.
Technical Performance
The Castle Creations CC BEC 2.0 represents modern voltage regulation engineering optimised for the demanding requirements of contemporary RC systems. With its 14A peak current capacity, this regulator delivers sufficient power headroom for servo banks containing multiple high-torque digital servos, HD onboard camera systems, and sophisticated telemetry or lighting packages without experiencing voltage sag under load. The 50V maximum input rating provides substantial safety margin above typical battery voltages encountered in RC cars and trucks, protecting the internal electronics and providing reliable operation across the full range of LiPo cell configurations commonly deployed in the UK RC community. The adjustable output voltage function, accessible via Castle Link programming (sold separately), allows precise tuning from 4.75V to 12V, accommodating everything from legacy 4.8V receiver systems to modern 6V digital servo systems and higher voltage accessory packages. The heavy-duty dual output wires are engineered to minimise voltage drop and provide multiple secure connection points, critical for maintaining clean power delivery to sensitive radio equipment during aggressive cornering, high-speed runs, or challenging off-road conditions. The proven Castle Creations design philosophy prioritises reliability and performance stability under real-world RC operating conditions rather than marketing-driven feature bloat, making this regulator an ideal choice for competitors and serious enthusiasts who understand that electronics reliability often determines the difference between victory and mechanical failure on the track or trail.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Castle Creations CC BEC 2.0 suitable for beginners in RC cars UK? — Yes, the CC BEC 2.0 is suitable for hobbyists of all experience levels. However, installation requires soldering skills and electrical knowledge, so beginners should either have these skills already or seek assistance from an experienced RC technician. The regulator itself is user-friendly once installed, though using the optional Castle Link programmer to adjust voltage does require following straightforward software instructions.
- What is the difference between the CC BEC 2.0 and other voltage regulators? — The CC BEC 2.0 distinguishes itself through its proven Castle Creations design heritage, 14A current capacity which exceeds many competitor offerings, adjustable output voltage that eliminates the need for multiple fixed regulators, heavy-duty dual output wires that reduce installation complexity, and the backing of hundreds of thousands of field-tested units. The 50V maximum rating also provides compatibility with modern high-cell-count LiPo systems that would exceed the ratings of older BEC technology.
- Can I operate the CC BEC 2.0 in parallel with another BEC or backup receiver pack? — No. The manufacturer explicitly states that the CC BEC 2.0 should never be operated in series or parallel with another BEC or a backup receiver pack connected to the RX/Servo side of the circuit. Attempting to do so risks damage to the regulator and potentially your entire electrical system. If you require redundancy, you must implement this at a different system level, not by paralleling regulators.
- What input voltage range does this regulator accept? — The CC BEC 2.0 accepts input voltages up to a maximum of 50V, making it compatible with LiPo battery packs from 2S (7.4V nominal) through 8S (29.6V nominal) and beyond, provided the pack is within the 50V absolute maximum specification. This wide input range makes it suitable for virtually any modern RC car or truck setup.
- Does the CC BEC 2.0 require programming accessories? — The regulator operates effectively with factory default settings without any programming required. However, to adjust the output voltage from its default setting to something between 4.75V and 12V, you will need the optional Castle Link programming accessory (model CSE011011900), which is sold separately. Many users are satisfied with the factory voltage setting and choose not to purchase the programmer.
- What size servos can the CC BEC 2.0 power? — With its 14A peak current capacity, the CC BEC 2.0 can power multiple high-torque digital servos simultaneously, making it excellent for vehicles with extensive servo requirements such as multi-servo steering systems, transmission servos, and accessory control channels. Individual servo specifications will determine exact configurations, but the 14A capacity provides excellent headroom for demanding applications.
