Maybe you want to know the voltage of your onboard battery (s), the RPM the motor is turning or the temperature of your ESC. In this day and age R/C is not just one way communication anymore. Traditional radio systems just transmit signals to the receiver, but Telemetry-capable systems send real-time data from your model back to your transmitter.
The S.BUS2 Telemetry Link was developed based on communication protocol disclosed from Futaba for use with specific Futaba S.BUS2 radios and compatible Castle Creations ESCs. Telemetry data can be displayed on the transmitter screen, or for parameters where you only want to be notified when a defined threshold is exceeded, (battery voltage, ESC temperature, etc.) you can configure a vibration or sound alert from the radio.
| Compatible Castle ESC | The ESC must have the ability to accept a bi-directional communication protocol that gives it the ability to transmit real-time telemetry feedback. This feature is called Link LiveT and needs to be enabled on compatible ESCs using Castle Link T (P-CC0500). Click here to view the Castle ESC Compatibility Chart. |
| Compatible Futaba S.BUS2 Radio | S.BUS2T extends Futaba S.BUST and supports bidirectional communication. Compatible radios will support S.BUS2 protocol. It is also necessary to utilize a compatible Futaba® Telemetry Receiver. Click here to view the Futaba® Radio Compatibility Chart. |

- Castle Link LiveT Compatible — Works exclusively with Castle Creations ESCs that feature the Link LiveT capability, which must be enabled using Castle Link T (P-CC0500) programming software.
- Minimal Weight Addition — At just 5.44 grams without wires, this telemetry link adds virtually no weight penalty to your model, preserving flight characteristics and performance across RC aircraft, cars, and boats.
- Enhanced Safety Through Monitoring — By continuously tracking battery voltage, ESC temperature, and motor performance, telemetry integration significantly reduces the risk of unexpected crashes caused by unknown conditions like low receiver battery voltage or ESC overheating.
Technical Performance
The CASTLE Telemetry Link SBUS2 represents premium engineering from Castle Creations, a respected manufacturer of electronic speed controllers and power management systems for the RC hobby. This module has been developed based on the communication protocol officially disclosed by Futaba, ensuring robust and reliable operation with compatible equipment. The telemetry link weighs just 5.44 grams without connecting wires, making it an exceptionally lightweight addition to any RC setup. The engineering focuses on creating a seamless integration between Castle Creations ESCs equipped with Link LiveT technology and Futaba S.BUS2 radio systems that support bidirectional S.BUS2T communication protocols. Unlike early telemetry systems that were prone to data dropouts or latency issues, the CASTLE system provides real-time updates on multiple parameters simultaneously. The unit is designed to work with Futaba-brand telemetry receivers compatible with S.BUS2 protocols, creating a complete ecosystem for comprehensive model monitoring. Performance data includes battery voltage readings that help predict remaining operating time, RPM measurements that verify motor efficiency and performance, and temperature sensors in the ESC that provide early warning of thermal stress. The system's reliability depends on proper configuration—ESCs must have Link LiveT enabled via Castle Link T software, and transmitters must support the S.BUS2 protocol with bidirectional capability. When properly configured, the telemetry link provides lag-free data transmission that allows you to make informed decisions about flight or driving style in real-time, preventing scenarios where low battery voltage or excessive heat might otherwise catch you unaware.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Futaba radios are compatible with this telemetry link? — Only Futaba S.BUS2 radio transmitters that support bidirectional S.BUS2T communication are compatible with this module. Futaba provides an official compatibility chart that lists approved models. Standard Futaba S.BUS radios without S.BUS2T support will not work with this telemetry system, so it's essential to verify your transmitter's capabilities before purchasing.
- Which Castle Creations ESCs work with this telemetry link? — Any Castle Creations Electronic Speed Controller featuring Link LiveT technology can use this telemetry module. However, the Link LiveT feature must be explicitly enabled on your ESC using Castle Link T programming software (model P-CC0500). Castle provides an ESC compatibility chart that lists which models support this feature. Not all Castle ESCs have Link LiveT capability, so checking the compatibility chart is essential before investing in the telemetry system.
- What data can I monitor with this telemetry link? — The CASTLE Telemetry Link allows you to monitor three critical parameters in real-time: onboard battery voltage so you know exactly how much power remains, motor RPM to verify performance and detect mechanical issues, and ESC temperature to catch thermal problems before they damage your equipment.
