Overview

The Carisma GT24 Subaru Impreza STI 2006 1/24 Micro RTR is a fully licensed, ready-to-run RC car that brings the legendary Japanese performance icon to life in miniature form. This is not just any Subaru — it's an STI, and Carisma has captured the essence of this iconic vehicle with authentic styling and serious performance credentials. The distinctive metallic blue and gold colour scheme is instantly recognisable to Subaru enthusiasts, whether you're a hardcore fan of the real thing or simply appreciate the heritage and pedigree of this celebrated rally machine. For anyone searching for a quality brushless RC car UK, or specifically looking for a ready to run RC rally car that doesn't compromise on performance, the GT24 Subaru STI delivers an impressive package at 1/24 scale.

This micro RC car is purpose-built for drivers who want genuine hobby-grade electronics and performance in a compact, highly manageable platform. The GT24 puts the fun into micro RC racing, making it accessible to Subaru fans of all ages whilst maintaining the engineering quality and responsiveness expected from a respected manufacturer like Carisma. Whether you're new to the hobby or a seasoned RC enthusiast looking for a high-quality micro platform, this fully assembled RTR model is ready to drive straight from the box. It combines brushless power, 2.4GHz hobby-grade radio control, full independent suspension and proper ball-raced driveline components — features normally reserved for larger, more expensive platforms.

What sets this model apart is the attention to detail and the recognition that a true enthusiast wants authenticity without compromise. The Subaru STI is probably the most sought-after 'sleeper' ever made in both full-size and 1/24 scale form. Subtle and understated in its presentation, it lets the reputation of the vehicle do the talking. With all the necessary batteries and charger included in the box, you have everything needed to begin enjoying fast 4WD action immediately upon purchase.

Key Features

  • 8000kv Brushless Motor — The GT24 Subaru STI features a powerful 8000kv brushless electric motor as standard, delivering responsive acceleration and impressive top speed from a motor specifically engineered for micro 1/24 scale performance. Brushless technology provides exceptional efficiency, reliability and longevity compared to older brushed motor designs, meaning your RC car will deliver consistent power and require less maintenance over time.
  • 2.4GHz Hobby Grade Radio System — Equipped with interference-free 2.4GHz digital frequency-hopping technology, the included CTX-2000 2.4G transmitter ensures rock-solid signal stability and responsive control even in crowded RC environments where multiple vehicles operate simultaneously. This is genuine hobby-grade electronics, not toy-grade, giving you the precision steering response and reliability that serious RC drivers demand.
  • Full Independent Suspension — The GT24 features independent suspension on all four wheels, allowing each corner of the vehicle to respond individually to track surface variations. This engineering approach delivers superior handling, grip and stability compared to simpler solid-axle designs, enabling you to tackle various terrain types and maintain control during fast cornering.
  • 4WD Drive System — Four-wheel drive power distribution ensures maximum traction in all directions, whether you're accelerating, braking or cornering. The 4WD system is particularly effective on low-grip surfaces and allows for more aggressive driving techniques, making this ready to run RC car genuinely thrilling to operate.
  • Fully Ball-Raced Driveline — The transmission and drivetrain components feature ball bearings throughout, reducing friction and wear whilst improving efficiency and speed. This is professional-grade engineering that extends component lifespan and maintains peak performance session after session.
  • High-Traction Rally Mini Pin Tyres — The GT24 is shod with rally-specification mini pin compound tyres specifically designed for on-road micro RC racing. These are brand-new street spec R compound rubber, engineered to deliver excellent grip levels whilst maintaining the responsive, predictable handling characteristics needed for precision driving on tarmac surfaces.
  • Hobby Grade Steering Servos — Rather than budget steering components, the GT24 incorporates proper hobby-grade steering servos that offer improved torque, precision and response time. This means your steering input translates directly into immediate vehicle response, essential for competitive driving or simply enjoying spirited on-road performance.
  • 7.4v LiPo Battery Compatibility — Whilst the standard battery supplied is a 7.2V NiMH micro stick pack, the vehicle is compatible with 7.4V LiPo batteries, allowing you to upgrade performance later if desired. LiPo batteries offer higher discharge rates and lighter weight compared to traditional NiMH packs, though the included NiMH battery is perfectly adequate for standard driving.
  • Complete Ready-to-Run Package — Unlike many RTR models, the Carisma GT24 Subaru STI arrives with genuinely everything needed to start driving: the vehicle itself is fully assembled, the 7.2V NiMH battery is included, the safe 5V USB charger is provided, and four AA batteries for the transmitter are included. This means you don't face unexpected additional costs for essential components.
  • Fully Licensed Design — This is an officially licensed Subaru model, meaning the body, livery and overall presentation carry authentic Subaru and STI branding and design language. Owning a licensed model supports the manufacturers and designers who created these iconic vehicles, and ensures you're getting genuine representation rather than generic imitations.

Technical Performance

The Carisma GT24 Subaru Impreza STI 2006 represents a significant step forward in micro RC car engineering. At 1/24 scale, it delivers performance and features typically found only in larger, considerably more expensive platforms. The 8000kv brushless motor provides sufficient power to achieve genuinely quick acceleration and entertaining top speeds, with the motor's efficiency ensuring you extract maximum runtime from the included 7.2V NiMH battery. The brushless system requires no brushes or commutators, meaning there's no mechanical wear to traditional brush motor components — you simply charge the battery and drive with minimal maintenance required. The 2.4GHz radio control system operates on frequency-hopping digital protocols, automatically selecting clear channels and avoiding interference from WiFi, mobile phones and other 2.4GHz devices in the vicinity. This is substantially more sophisticated than older 27MHz or 40MHz systems, and the difference in control precision and reliability is immediately noticeable when driving. The CTX-2000 transmitter is ergonomic and intuitive, featuring proper trigger throttle and steering wheel controls rather than toy-like joysticks.

The chassis engineering combines a fully independent suspension system with proper shock absorbers on all four corners, allowing the suspension to manage vertical compliance whilst maintaining chassis geometry and grip through corners. The driveline features ball-raced components throughout, meaning smooth power delivery with minimal friction losses. Materials utilise a mix of plastic chassis components and metal drivetrain parts where strength and precision matter most — a proven approach that balances weight, durability and cost-effectiveness. The on-road focus means the suspension is tuned for tarmac and smooth concrete surfaces rather than off-road terrain, with the high-traction rally mini pin tyres optimised for these smoother surfaces. The steering servo response is immediate and precise, essential when piloting a small vehicle at pace where input corrections need to be applied quickly to maintain trajectory. The vehicle has a skill level rating of 1, indicating it is genuinely beginner-friendly and doesn't require advanced driving techniques to operate effectively, though it remains engaging and responsive enough for more experienced drivers to enjoy.

It arrives fully assembled and ready to drive, requires no building or complex setup, and the 2.4GHz radio system is intuitive to operate. The independent suspension and 4WD system provide stability and progressive handling characteristics that don't punish new drivers, whilst remaining responsive enough to teach good driving technique. • What is the scale and how big is this RC car? — The Carisma GT24 Subaru STI is 1/24 scale, making it a micro RC car designed to fit in your pocket or backpack. Compared to larger 1/10 scale vehicles, it's significantly smaller and more portable, ideal for driving in confined spaces, gardens, car parks or indoor locations where larger models wouldn't fit. Despite the small size, it delivers impressive performance and features.
  • What battery does the Carisma GT24 need and how long does it run? — The vehicle includes a 7.2V NiMH micro stick pack battery as standard. The specific runtime depends on driving style and surface conditions, but micro vehicles typically achieve 20-40 minutes of useful driving per charge with the included battery. The vehicle is also compatible with 7.4V LiPo batteries if you wish to upgrade later for increased performance and lighter weight. The safe 5V USB charger is included and will fully recharge the battery in a few hours.

Brushless motors offer superior efficiency, longer lifespan, cooler running temperatures and more responsive power delivery compared to brushed alternatives. There's no maintenance required to brush contact points, and the motor will maintain consistent performance throughout its lifespan.
  • What makes this different from other 1/24 RC cars? — The Carisma GT24 Subaru STI combines several factors that distinguish it in the micro RC market. Firstly, it's a fully licensed Subaru model with authentic STI styling and branding, important for enthusiasts. Secondly, it features genuine hobby-grade components throughout — brushless motor, proper 2.4GHz radio system, ball-raced driveline, independent suspension and quality steering servos — rather than toy-grade electronics. Thirdly, it arrives complete with everything needed including battery and charger. Finally, the distinctive metallic blue and gold colour scheme is understated and authentic, not a generic livery.
  • Can I use this RC car on different surfaces? — The GT24 Subaru STI is specifically optimised for on-road use with its rally-specification mini pin tyres and suspension tuning. It will operate on tarmac, concrete and smooth surfaces, but is not designed for rough off-road terrain like grass, dirt or rocks. The tyres are street-spec compound engineered for grip on tarmac rather than soft compound off-road rubber.
  • Is the Carisma GT24 Subaru STI waterproof? — The specifications provided do not indicate waterproofing or moisture resistance ratings. It is advisable to avoid wet conditions, puddles and rain to protect the electronics and mechanical components.
  • What transmitter does this use? — The vehicle includes the CTX-2000 2.4G transmitter, a dedicated hobby-grade radio control unit featuring proper trigger throttle and steering wheel controls. This is not a toy remote, but a genuine RC transmitter designed for precision control.
