Overview
The ARRMA Limited Slip F/R Diff Set GP4 5mm 10k is a factory-assembled differential unit designed to deliver reliable performance across ARRMA's range of 1/8 and 1/7 scale brushless RC vehicles. Whether you're piloting a 1/8 Kraton 6S, Notorious 6S, Outcast 6S, Talion 6S or stepping up to the 1/7 Big Rock, Fireteam or Mojave, this pre-assembled diff set arrives ready to install, eliminating the need for time-consuming assembly and oil filling. Perfect for RC enthusiasts in the UK looking for a convenient upgrade or replacement component, this limited slip differential provides the enhanced traction control that makes a real difference during aggressive driving and cornering manoeuvres on varied terrain.
This is an essential upgrade for serious RC car UK hobbyists who demand consistent handling characteristics whether they're bashing on grass, concrete or rougher ground. The factory assembly means you get a professionally filled unit with 10k cSt silicone oil, eliminating guesswork and ensuring optimal differential action from day one. ARRMA's reputation for durability and performance in the ready to run RC market is well-established, and this diff set represents the same engineering philosophy applied to aftermarket performance upgrades.
Key Features
- Factory Assembled and Pre-filled — This differential arrives completely assembled and filled with 10k cSt silicone oil, allowing for fast and efficient servicing without the need for additional setup or calibration, saving you valuable track time and reducing potential errors during installation.
- Tough Steel Internal Gears — The internal gearing is manufactured from steel, providing long-lasting durability in all driving conditions and ensuring the differential can withstand the punishment of high-performance RC driving without premature wear or failure.
- Stainless Steel Limited Slip Plates — Stainless steel limited slip plates are installed within the differential, delivering controlled traction distribution between front and rear wheels and enabling better cornering grip and acceleration response without full lock-up that would compromise handling.
- Strong Composite Diff Case with Steel Insert — The main differential case combines composite material construction with an integrated steel insert, balancing lightweight design with the structural rigidity required to withstand extreme forces during aggressive driving.
- 43T GP4 Spiral Cut Gear — The main gear features a 43-tooth spiral cut design specifically engineered for the GP4 platform, delivering increased durability under extreme loads and smoother mesh characteristics compared to straight-cut alternatives.
- Metal Cross Shafts — Steel cross shafts replace lower-quality plastic alternatives, increasing efficiency in the differential's internal mechanics and improving consistency in traction control distribution during cornering and acceleration.
- Rubber Shielded Bearings — Precision ball bearings with rubber shielding protect the differential assembly from dirt and debris contamination whilst ensuring fast and efficient installation into your vehicle without additional bearing lubrication requirements.
- 29mm Diff Case Compatibility — This differential utilises the 29mm diff case standard, making it compatible with a wide range of ARRMA vehicles and ensuring you have access to a comprehensive catalogue of spare parts for future maintenance and upgrades.
Technical Performance
This limited slip differential set represents ARRMA's commitment to precision engineering in the RC truck and buggy market. The combination of steel internal gears and stainless steel limited slip plates creates a sophisticated traction management system that distributes power intelligently between wheels whilst maintaining controlled slip characteristics essential for high-performance cornering. The 43-tooth spiral cut GP4 main gear is specifically designed to work in harmony with the 10-tooth spiral cut input gear (sold separately as ARA310979), creating a smooth meshing interface that reduces noise and vibration whilst maximising power transmission efficiency. The 10k cSt silicone oil fill viscosity is precisely calibrated to provide the optimal balance between limited slip action and mechanical smoothness across the temperature ranges you'll encounter during extended RC driving sessions. The composite diff case with integrated steel insert delivers the structural rigidity necessary for use in high-performance 1/8 and 1/7 scale vehicles whilst maintaining the weight characteristics needed for balanced handling. Steel cross shafts ensure the internal spider gears maintain consistent engagement with the side gears, eliminating the play and inconsistency that can develop with lower-quality plastic alternatives. The rubber-shielded bearing arrangement allows rapid installation and removal without requiring additional bearing lubrication or time-consuming assembly procedures, making this an ideal solution for racers and weekend bashers alike who value efficiency without compromising performance quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this limited slip differential suitable for my ARRMA RC vehicle? — This diff set is compatible with numerous ARRMA models including 1/8 scale Kraton 6S, Notorious 6S, Outcast 6S and Talion 6S models, as well as 1/7 scale Big Rock 6S, Fireteam 6S and Mojave 6S variants. Check the compatibility chart on our website to confirm your specific model, or contact our team for personalised advice on whether this upgrade suits your vehicle.
- What is the difference between a limited slip differential and a standard open differential? — A limited slip differential uses internal friction plates and oil viscosity to control traction distribution between wheels, enabling cornering without complete wheel lock-up whilst providing better acceleration grip than a standard open differential. This means improved handling consistency and better control during competitive driving compared to vehicles equipped with basic open differentials.
- Why does this differential come pre-filled with 10k cSt silicone oil? — The 10k cSt viscosity rating is the optimal thickness for delivering controlled limited slip action across standard racing and bashing conditions. Factory filling eliminates the risk of incorrect oil viscosity selection and ensures you receive a professionally assembled unit ready for immediate installation without additional servicing requirements.
- Can I use this differential on both front and rear axles? — Yes, this is a universal limited slip differential designed for both front and rear applications on compatible ARRMA vehicles, providing consistent handling characteristics across both axles and simplifying your parts inventory management.
- What is the 43-tooth spiral cut gear and why does it matter? — The main gear features 43 teeth and uses spiral cut technology rather than straight-cut design, which results in smoother, quieter operation with better load distribution. This engineering approach increases durability under extreme loads and improves overall differential performance compared to basic straight-cut alternatives commonly found on entry-level vehicles.
- Is the factory assembly and filling really necessary? — Factory assembly ensures that all internal components are correctly positioned and the precise 10k cSt oil fill is accurate, eliminating common assembly mistakes that can compromise differential function. This professional preparation guarantees optimal performance from your first drive without requiring disassembly or servicing.
- What is the 29mm diff case and can I use different sizes? — The 29mm diff case is the standard case diameter for this differential assembly. ARRMA produces spare parts and different differential designs specifically engineered for the 29mm format, so sticking with this standard ensures compatibility with all available upgrade options.
- Do I need any special tools to install this differential? — Installation requirements depend on your specific vehicle model. The rubber-shielded bearings allow rapid fitting without requiring additional bearing lubrication, but you may need basic RC tools for removing the old differential and securing the new assembly. Consult your vehicle manual or contact our experienced team for model-specific installation guidance.
