Whether you're piloting an RC car, buggy, or other electric RC model, this 3-cell lithium polymer battery delivers the punch and runtime you need to keep your hobby sessions going strong. With its proven 11.1V configuration and widespread Deans (HCT) connector compatibility, this battery is an excellent choice for hobbyists looking to upgrade or expand their battery collection without breaking the bank.
This Radient battery balances raw power delivery with extended runtime through its 30C discharge rating and substantial 5000mAh capacity, making it suitable for a wide range of RC applications from casual bashing to more demanding driving scenarios. The compact dimensions of just 125mm length, 44mm width and 27mm height mean this battery fits neatly into most RC model bays, solving the eternal puzzle of battery fitment that frustrates many UK RC car owners. Recommended for users aged 14 and above, this is the kind of reliable, straightforward power pack that builds confidence in newer RC hobbyists while still delivering the performance characteristics that experienced bashers appreciate.
Key Features
- 3S LiPo Chemistry — This battery uses proven lithium polymer cell technology configured in three cells to deliver a nominal voltage of 11.1 volts, which is the standard power delivery profile recognised and trusted across the RC hobby world, ensuring broad compatibility with existing RC models and aftermarket upgrades available throughout the UK.
- 5000mAh Capacity — The substantial 5000mAh capacity provides genuine runtime for your RC sessions, allowing you to enjoy extended driving time before needing to swap batteries or head back to the charging station, which is particularly valuable when you're out at the local RC track or bashing in the park.
- 30C Continuous Discharge Rating — With a 30C rating, this battery can safely deliver 150 amps of continuous current (5000mAh × 30C = 150A), making it suitable for mid-range electric motors and ESCs that demand consistent, reliable power without voltage sag or performance degradation during demanding acceleration or high-speed runs.
- Deans (HCT) Connector — The Deans (HCT) connector is one of the most popular battery connectors in the RC hobby, widely fitted to RC cars, buggies and many ready-to-run RC vehicles available in the UK, meaning you'll likely find this battery compatible with your existing models without requiring additional connector adapters.
- Compact Footprint — Measuring just 125mm × 44mm × 27mm and weighing only 0.36kg, this battery is designed to fit into tight battery bays found in modern RC cars and buggies, solving fitment challenges without sacrificing capacity or performance compared to bulkier alternatives.
- Soft Case Protection — The battery arrives in a protective soft case that shields the cells from minor impacts and environmental hazards during storage and transport, helping to extend the lifespan of your investment and keeping your battery safe during trips to the track or RC club events.
- Age-Appropriate Design — Recommended for users aged 14 and above, this battery is engineered with safety in mind, though users should always follow proper LiPo charging and handling procedures to ensure safe operation and longevity.
Technical Performance
The Radient LiPo 3S 5000mAh 11.1V 30C battery represents solid engineering in the mid-tier battery category, offering balanced performance characteristics that appeal to both newcomers entering the RC hobby and experienced operators managing multiple RC models. The 30C discharge rating means this battery can sustain continuous discharge at 150 amps without thermal stress or significant voltage sag, making it suitable for electric motors typically found in 1/10 scale RC cars and buggies commonly used throughout the UK. The 5000mAh capacity strikes an excellent balance between providing meaningful runtime — typically 15 to 30 minutes depending on driving style and motor selection — whilst maintaining the compact dimensions that fit within factory battery trays. LiPo chemistry offers superior energy density compared to older nickel-based batteries, delivering more consistent voltage throughout the discharge curve, which translates to more predictable handling and acceleration characteristics as your battery depletes during driving sessions. The soft case construction provides adequate protection for hobby-level use, though serious competitors may wish to upgrade to hard case variants for maximum durability during transport and storage. The Deans (HCT) connector has become the de facto standard for mid-range RC vehicles available through UK retailers, meaning this battery will integrate seamlessly with most contemporary RC cars and buggies without requiring expensive connector upgrades or modifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient LiPo 3S 5000mAh 11.1V 30C battery suitable for beginners to the RC hobby? — Yes, this battery is an excellent choice for newer RC enthusiasts aged 14 and above who are learning proper LiPo handling techniques. The straightforward 3S configuration and standard Deans (HCT) connector mean fewer compatibility headaches, whilst the 5000mAh capacity and 30C rating provide adequate performance for most entry-level to intermediate RC cars and buggies available throughout the UK. Beginners should ensure they have a suitable LiPo charger and understand basic safety procedures before use.
- What is the real-world runtime I can expect from this 5000mAh battery? — Runtime depends on several factors including motor size, ESC settings, driving style and terrain, but typically you can expect 15 to 30 minutes of continuous driving. Aggressive acceleration and high-speed driving will consume the battery faster, whilst gentle cruising and technical driving will extend runtime. Most UK RC hobbyists find 5000mAh packs provide a satisfying balance between runtime and weight, allowing for enjoyable sessions without excessive battery swapping.
- Can I use this battery with my existing RC car or buggy? — The Radient 3S 5000mAh battery will work with any RC model that accepts 3S LiPo batteries and features either a Deans (HCT) connector or a standard Deans connector with an adapter. Most contemporary RC cars and buggies sold through UK retailers use this configuration, though you should verify your model's specifications before purchase. The compact 125mm × 44mm × 27mm dimensions mean it will fit in most standard battery bays found in modern RC vehicles.
- How does the 30C rating compare to other batteries in the RC hobby? — The 30C rating indicates this battery can safely deliver 150 amps of continuous current, making it suitable for mid-range RC applications. This rating is lower than high-performance racing batteries which may offer 50C, 100C or higher ratings, but higher than basic 15C or 20C batteries. For most UK RC hobbyists engaging in casual bashing, track driving and club events, the 30C rating provides ample performance without the premium pricing of top-tier racing batteries.
- What safety precautions should I follow when using this LiPo battery? — Always charge LiPo batteries using a proper LiPo-compatible charger with balance-charging capability. Never leave charging batteries unattended, store batteries in a cool dry location away from metal objects, and inspect cells for damage or puffing before each use. Follow manufacturer guidelines and seek advice from experienced RC hobbyists or retailers like RC Model Shop if you're uncertain about any aspect of battery handling.
