Overview

The Traxxas Driveshafts, Rear, Steel-spline constant-velocity (complete assembly) (2 pcs) (fits 2WD Rustler / Stampede) TRX1951R represent a significant upgrade for UK RC enthusiasts looking to enhance the performance and durability of their 2WD Traxxas models. These steel rear CV driveshafts are purpose-engineered to replace standard components and deliver ultimate torque handling combined with efficient power transfer, making them an essential upgrade for serious RC car UK owners who demand reliable transmission components that can handle the rigours of regular bashing or competitive use.

Whether you own a Rustler or Stampede, these genuine Traxxas replacement driveshafts offer a complete assembly solution that transforms your driving experience. The steel construction provides significantly greater strength compared to standard plastic alternatives, allowing you to push your RC vehicle harder without worrying about catastrophic drivetrain failure during jumps, aggressive cornering, or sustained high-speed runs. These are not budget components—they represent genuine Traxxas engineering designed specifically for owners who refuse to compromise on quality.

If you're an RC enthusiast in the UK looking for reliable transmission upgrades or replacement parts for your 2WD stadium truck or short-course racer, these CV driveshafts deliver the performance and protection you need. The complete assembly design means installation is straightforward, and the professional nickel-plated finish adds a custom aesthetic to your vehicle's underbody, demonstrating your commitment to quality upgrades.

Key Features

  • Steel Construction with 6mm Stub Axle — These driveshafts are manufactured from hardened steel rather than plastic, providing vastly superior strength and torque capacity that allows you to transmit maximum power from your motor to the wheels without risk of breakage, which is essential if you run a brushless RC motor or regularly engage in aggressive driving.
  • Constant Velocity Design — The CV (constant-velocity) joint design ensures smooth, efficient power transfer at all steering angles, preventing torque loss and maintaining consistent acceleration whether you're driving straight or turning at full lock, which is particularly important in racing applications where every fraction of a second counts.
  • Lubricated and Sealed Outer U-Joints — The outer U-joints feature internal lubrication sealed by robust rubber boots that prevent dirt, mud, water and sand from contaminating the joint mechanism, extending component lifespan dramatically and ensuring your driveshafts remain responsive and reliable even after running through wet grass, muddy fields or dusty terrains common to UK RC tracks and outdoor spaces.
  • Captive U-Joint Pins — The U-joint pins are held captive within the assembly, eliminating any risk of losing a pin during operation or maintenance, which means you never have to worry about sudden drivetrain failure caused by a missing pin or the inconvenience of searching for tiny lost components in grass or dirt.
  • Nickel-Plated Shafts with Black Silicone Boots — Beyond functional excellence, these driveshafts feature a gleaming nickel-plated finish that resists corrosion and adds a professional, custom appearance to your RC vehicle's undercarriage, whilst the black silicone boots provide both protection and aesthetic appeal, making your Rustler or Stampede look more refined and professionally maintained.
  • Fits Left or Right Position — These driveshafts are versatile enough to be installed in either the left or right rear position, giving you flexibility in your setup and the ability to replace either shaft independently if needed without requiring different part numbers.
  • Complete Assembly Solution — Supplied as a complete assembly for both rear positions (2 pcs), these driveshafts eliminate the need to source multiple individual components, providing a comprehensive upgrade that addresses the entire rear drivetrain in one purchase.

Technical Performance

The Traxxas TRX1951R rear CV driveshafts represent the pinnacle of transmission engineering for 2WD Rustler and Stampede models. Constructed from hardened steel rather than the plastic alternatives found on many budget RC cars, these shafts feature a larger 6mm stub axle design that dramatically increases the load-carrying capacity and torque-handling capability of your vehicle's rear drivetrain. This engineering detail is crucial when running modern brushless motors that can deliver tremendous power outputs—the larger stub axle ensures that your drivetrain components can actually utilise that power without failing under load. The constant-velocity joint design employs proven engineering principles to maintain smooth power delivery at all steering angles, ensuring that whether you're executing tight slalom courses or full-lock cornering manoeuvres, the driveshafts transfer power efficiently without binding or creating dead zones. The outer U-joints are intelligently engineered with internal lubrication sealed by quality rubber boots, a design that acknowledges the reality of UK RC ownership where vehicles are regularly exposed to mud, rain, grass debris and other environmental contaminants. By sealing the joints with protective boots whilst maintaining lubrication, Traxxas ensures these components maintain their smooth operation over extended service life. The captive pin design demonstrates attention to detail that prevents frustration during maintenance and eliminates the risk of catastrophic failure caused by a loose or missing pin. The nickel-plated finish not only looks impressive but also provides genuine corrosion resistance, important for vehicles that operate in the damp UK climate. These are replacement components built to exacting standards that earn the trust of RC enthusiasts across the United Kingdom who demand genuine Traxxas quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes steel CV driveshafts better than standard plastic alternatives? — Steel construction provides substantially greater strength and torque-handling capacity, allowing you to run more powerful brushless motors and engage in more aggressive driving without risk of drivetrain failure, whereas plastic alternatives are prone to breaking under high-stress conditions.
  • Will these driveshafts fit my Traxxas 2WD Rustler or Stampede? — Yes, these TRX1951R driveshafts are specifically designed as rear replacements for 2WD Rustler and 2WD Stampede models, and the complete assembly design means you get both left and right rear components in a single purchase.
  • How do the sealed rubber boots protect the U-joints? — The rubber boots seal out dirt, mud, sand and water whilst retaining internal lubrication, preventing contamination that would cause the joints to bind or seize and ensuring your driveshafts maintain smooth operation across muddy UK tracks and outdoor RC environments.
  • Do I need any special tools to install these driveshafts? — The complete assembly design simplifies installation—these are supplied as ready-to-fit units that replace your existing rear driveshafts, though you should consult your Traxxas manual or contact an authorised Traxxas retailer for specific installation guidance for your model.
  • Can I use these with a brushless motor setup? — Yes, absolutely—the steel construction and larger 6mm stub axle are specifically engineered to handle the torque outputs of modern brushless motors, making these driveshafts an ideal upgrade if you're running a high-power brushless drivetrain in your Rustler or Stampede.
  • Are these suitable for competitive racing? — These driveshafts are genuine Traxxas components built to professional standards and used by RC racers across the UK, providing the reliability and consistent performance needed for competitive racing applications where drivetrain failures are not an option.
  • How long will these driveshafts last? — With proper maintenance and the sealed, lubricated U-joint design, these steel driveshafts offer extended service life compared to plastic alternatives, though specific lifespan depends on driving style and maintenance practices.
