The SAVOX HV CNC Monster Brushless Servo represents the pinnacle of high-performance servo technology for demanding RC applications. This powerful servo from the acclaimed Monster performance series utilises cutting-edge brushless motor and controller technology to deliver up to 35% more power than previous generation servos. Whether you're piloting a high-speed RC car in the UK or operating a precision RC model that demands reliability and responsiveness, this servo delivers the torque and speed you need to maintain competitive edge and smooth control in every situation.

Built for enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on performance, the SAVOX SB2290SG is engineered to handle the rigorous demands of modern RC racing and bashing. The servo's robust construction and advanced brushless technology make it an ideal choice for RC car UK applications, from competitive track racing to weekend bashers seeking maximum reliability. With its remarkable 50kg-cm of torque at 7.4V and lightning-quick 0.13 second response time, this servo transforms your RC model's steering precision and responsiveness into a genuine competitive advantage.

RC enthusiasts across the UK choose SAVOX servos for their proven durability, consistent performance, and exceptional value for money. This particular model showcases the brand's commitment to engineering excellence with precision manufacturing and quality components throughout.

Key Features

  • Brushless Motor Technology — The unique brushless motor design eliminates the maintenance issues and wear associated with traditional brushed motors, whilst delivering smoother, more consistent performance throughout the servo's operational lifespan. This technology is especially valuable for serious RC hobbyists who demand reliability without compromise.
  • Full Aluminium Case — Constructed from premium aluminium alloy, the servo case provides exceptional durability and heat dissipation during extended racing sessions. The rigid aluminium construction maintains structural integrity even under extreme operational stress, which is critical for maintaining precise steering control in high-performance RC applications.
  • Three Precision Ball Bearings — The servo incorporates three high-precision ball bearings that support smooth, friction-free operation of the output shaft. These precision bearings ensure minimal backlash and maximum responsiveness, delivering the tight steering control that competitive RC drivers demand when navigating challenging courses.
  • Unique Steel Gears — Premium steel gear construction provides superior strength and longevity compared to plastic alternatives. Steel gears can handle the extreme torque loads generated during aggressive cornering and rapid steering inputs without stripping or wearing prematurely, making this servo exceptionally reliable for high-demand RC car applications.
  • 35% Power Increase Over Previous Generation — The advanced brushless motor and controller technology boost overall power output significantly, enabling faster steering response and greater torque delivery for improved handling characteristics across all RC vehicle types and driving styles.

Technical Performance

This high-voltage CNC Monster brushless servo delivers exceptional technical performance across the entire operating range. At 7.4V, the servo produces an impressive 50kg-cm (763.8oz-in) of torque whilst achieving a phenomenal 0.13 second response time per 60 degrees of rotation—this combination of speed and power makes it ideally suited for fast-paced RC racing and aggressive steering inputs. The servo can be operated across multiple voltage configurations: at 6.0V it delivers 40kg-cm (624.9oz-in) of torque and 0.16 second speed, whilst the maximum power configuration at 8.4V produces 70kg-cm (972.1oz-in) of torque with a blistering 0.11 second response time. The brushless motor technology ensures consistent performance without the wear characteristics of traditional brushed designs, extending service intervals and reducing maintenance requirements. The servo's 81-gram weight and compact dimensions (40.3 x 20.2 x 38.7mm) make it suitable for a wide variety of RC models without adding unnecessary unsprung weight that would compromise handling. The 25-tooth output gear spline is compatible with standard servo horns, and the servo accommodates an operating travel range of 100 degrees with maximum travel capability of approximately 130 degrees. Operating current specifications are modest at just 180-220mA under no-load conditions at various voltage levels, whilst stall current reaches 10,500mA at maximum voltage for situations requiring instantaneous maximum torque delivery. The servo operates reliably across a temperature range from -10°C to 50°C, making it suitable for UK outdoor RC activities throughout the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What voltage battery does the SAVOX SB2290SG servo require? — This servo is fully compatible with 6.0V, 7.4V, and 8.4V battery configurations. The servo will operate across all three voltage levels with corresponding performance increases at higher voltages. At 7.4V (the standard 2S LiPo configuration), you'll achieve 50kg-cm torque and 0.13 second speed, which represents the ideal balance of performance for most RC car UK applications. Higher voltage (8.4V) delivers maximum performance at 70kg-cm torque, whilst lower voltage (6.0V) provides more conservative operation if you prefer extended servo lifespan.
  • Is this servo suitable for high-speed RC cars and competitive racing? — Absolutely. The 0.13 second response time at 7.4V and 50kg-cm of available torque make this servo exceptionally well-suited for competitive RC racing applications where steering precision and rapid response are critical. The brushless technology ensures consistent performance throughout extended racing sessions without performance degradation caused by motor wear.
  • What makes brushless servo technology better than traditional brushed servos? — Brushless motors eliminate the carbon brushes and commutator found in brushed designs, which means no brush wear, no spark erosion, and no maintenance of brush components. This results in longer service life, more consistent performance characteristics, and lower overall maintenance requirements. For serious RC car UK enthusiasts who want reliable performance without frequent maintenance, brushless technology is the clear choice.
  • What is the difference between this Monster servo and standard servos? — The Monster series delivers up to 35% more power than Savox's previous generation servos through advanced brushless motor and controller technology. This translates to faster response times, greater torque capacity, and more precise steering control. The full aluminium case and three precision ball bearings represent significant engineering improvements that enhance both performance and longevity compared to budget servo alternatives.
  • Can I use this servo in any RC model type? — Yes, the servo's compact dimensions (40.3 x 20.2 x 38.7mm) and 81-gram weight make it compatible with standard servo bays across most RC vehicles including cars, buggies, and trucks. The 25-tooth spline output is industry-standard, compatible with commonly available servo horns from multiple manufacturers.
