- Three-Mode Throttle Profile System — Selectable Forward/Reverse/Brake modes allow drivers to configure throttle response to match driving style and conditions, with brake mode providing regenerative or dynamic braking for improved control and faster stopping distance.
- 6.5mm Bullet Motor Connectors — Standardised 6.5mm bullet connectors ensure broad motor compatibility across the ARRMA ecosystem and beyond, allowing flexible motor selection and quick swap capability for different speed and torque requirements.
- Sensorless Motor Operation — The BLX185 operates with sensorless brushless motor detection, reducing wiring complexity and motor cost whilst maintaining smooth throttle response and reliable commutation across the full RPM range.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA BLX185 represents a mature engineering design optimised for the demanding requirements of modern RC vehicles. With a 150-ampere continuous current rating and rated for 22.2V (6S LiPo) operation, this ESC delivers the electrical performance needed for high-output brushless motors whilst maintaining thermal stability through active fan cooling. The integration of premium 10AWG motor wiring reduces resistive losses, ensuring maximum power reaches your motor with minimal waste. The 6V BEC circuit is engineered to supply stable, clean voltage even during peak motor current draw, critical for maintaining precise servo positioning and receiver stability during aggressive driving manoeuvres. Construction materials and potting compound provide complete waterproof protection to IP67 standards or equivalent, making this ESC suitable for muddy terrain, wet weather, and challenging off-road conditions encountered in UK RC racing and recreational driving. The three-mode throttle profile system (Forward/Reverse/Brake) provides configurable response curves, allowing drivers to tailor ESC behaviour to match vehicle characteristics, terrain conditions, and personal driving preference. Advanced protection circuits include over-voltage monitoring with automatic shutdown, dual-stage LiPo cell monitoring to prevent destructive over-discharge, and thermal management through intelligent cooling fan operation. The IC5 connector specification ensures compatibility with modern ARRMA vehicle platforms whilst delivering superior electrical performance compared to legacy connector styles. This ESC represents five years of proven field performance across competitive racing, recreational bashing, and professional RC applications in the UK and internationally.
